About the conductor

Graduated Department of Instruments, Regular Course of Tokyo Music School on 1950. Studied conducting under Noboru Kaneko, Akio Watanabe and Kurt Woess. Appeared many concerts, operas and broadcasting programs as regular conductor of Nikikai Chorus with establishing Nikikai. Performed premieres of Benjamin Britten's "Five Flower Songs," Gian-Carlo Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors," etc. in Japan. During that time, conducted Tokyo Cholarias, Luna Harmonico and Tokyo Chamber Chorus, and performed a few regular concerts. Instructed some university choruses such as Aoyama Gakuin University Green Harmony, Tokyo Gakugei University Mixed Chorus. Moreover, made an effort to grow up young conductors and produced many talented ones.

In the field of education, after the experience of Professor of Tokyo Gakugei University, Instructor of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Fukushima University and Fukuoka University of Education, now Professor Emeritus of Tokyo Gakugei University and Professor of Soka University.
