I wrote this text only on my personal interest. If you have any comment, suggestion, complaint, and so on, please E- mail to me. My E-mail address is (also listed at the end of this text). The title "Yuusha-Oh GaoGaiGar" is abbreviated as "GaGaGa" by lots of fans. I've used this abbreviation in this text throughly. (i.e., if the word "GaGaGa" is appeared, it means the work itself.) **** IMPORTANT **** This text have tons of spoiler. So read at your own risk. If you are new to GaGaGa and/or want to know only breif impressions, stop reading this text until the chapter 4 "GaGaGa for Dummies". I tried to explain GaGaGa with very limited and unessential informations (excerpted from episode 1 to 6), so I think you can get basic understanding without suffering serious spoiler. After that chapter, spoilers are shown openly even in the merchandise infos (especially in the Drama CDs' explanation). This text is still under deveropment and may contain severe mistakes. Please beware! Informations shown in this text are gathered mainly from LDs. Though I've checked them, I'm still uncertain of the text's exact reliability. All _Japanese_ names shown in this text, both fictitious and real (include my name), use the Japanese (Asian?) style, which means family name comes first. So, for example, Utsugi Mikoto's family name is "Utsugi". If you want to know about the OVA "Yusha-Oh GaoGaiGar FINAL", please consult my another document "GaoGaiGar FINAL Information". 2) Introduction Basically, "Yuusha-Oh GaoGaiGar" is a Japanese SF cartoon about Earth-defending giant robots and humans, aimed at kids (mainly boys) to sell toys, and featured by huge robots' hand-to-hand combats. The word Yuusha-Oh is a Japanese one, and the _official_ Engilsh translation is "King of Braves". So its title means "King of Braves GaoGaiGar". A Japanese word Yuusha means Brave, and Oh means King, so some people translate Yuusha-Oh as "Brave-King", which make some sense. GaGaGa's first-looking is a bit silly (I wonder how do you feel hearing comments like "hey! this robot has a lion's head on breast!" :D), so you may misses GaGaGa's true value which is well hidden and blended in the background. Once the director Yonetani Yoshitomo said that recent (Sunrise's) robot-Animes seems to have lost its former energy. And the producer Takahashi Ryousuke said that GaGaGa will be the Renaissance of Giant Robot Anime. As they said, GaGaGa is the hot-blooded, cheerful, and really very exciting Giant-Robot-Anime which also contain deep plots and vast knowledge. And it seems that Sunrise threw exceptional (for a mere TV show) amount of resources into the production of GaGaGa. For example, the amount of cells used in the 1st episode are 11,195, over triple in contrast with usual TV-anime's amount 3,000-4000. (This exceptional commitment seems partly due to the show's experimental feature which I wrote below.) One of GaGaGa's interesting feature is the experimental usage of Computer Graphics. GaGaGa use C.G.s for representing some effects (such as an explosion shown in episode 6), trying to use modern C.G. as a tool in the traditional hand-drawn Anime. Though using C.G.s are relatively popular today, its outcome may worth to watch. As a TV show, the result which GaGaGa achieved is not good. The rating of GaGaGa was not high throughout the broadcasting period. I suspect the overall average of rating seems to be about 2-3% (though I don't have concrete values). But sale of toys seem to have been good, so GaGaGa could barely escape from the danger of aborting. (Note that some say the sale of toys, too, weren't good. I can't confirm which is true.) That may means GaGaGa did not gain ground on public. And worse, there are a few Anime magazine which have featured GaGaGa largely. This may means GaGaGa did not gain ground even on general Anime fans. (In fact, it seems that Anime magazines tend to ignore the entire Yuusha series itself.) But there are some announcements of the forthcoming GaGaGa- (and Yuusha-) related merchandise. So, at least to say, there might be enough number of fans to sustain those new products. For now, I can't judge whether this situation is an analogy to the first Yamato or Gundam (which were unpopular at the first airing). Only time can tell the fact.... # On the booklet of the DVD volume 9, the GaGaGa's framer Horiguchi # Shigeru stated that, before starting GaGaGa, kids' anime itselves # already lost its popularity, and according to some editorial staff # of kids' magazine, GaGaGa DID obtain kids' attention. Though I'm # skeptic about his comment since I have no evidence and he's # "insider", I'm a bit relieved. :) 3) About Yuusha series GaGaGa is the last one of the Yuusha (in English, "Brave") series. The first of Yuusha series was broadcasted on TV at Februaly 1990, titled "Yuusha Exkaiser". It seems that was heavily affected by, and inspired from, the American robot-Anime Transformers. (Sunrise seems to agree on the fact that they got some ititial idea from the Transformer series.) The Yuusha series are highlighted by giant robots' transformation and docking. It sounds much like the Yuusha series are a la Trans- formers. It may be partly true (expecially for Exkaiser), though Yuusha series has defferent tastes and deep plots such like many Japanese so-called "kids' Anime" did. Each Yuusha series start at around early February, are broadcasted on TV weekly, and last a year, then replaces another one. Each are unique and have no apparent connection between them, except for ('aimed at kids to sell toys' policy :D and) all series keep the word "Yuusha" in its title. Title names are usually the leading robot's name of that show, except for Dagwon. According to the show, the word Dagwon means "the Brave" by the righteous Alien's language. In the show, leading characters (_not_robots_) are chosen by such righteous Alien to become "Dagwon" who must defend their home-planet Earth from villain Aliens by their own hands. By the end of GaGaGa, the broadcast of Yuusha series were ended and thus there is no more new Yuusha series on TV. Though a new Yuusha named BaanGaan is indroduced in the Playstation's game "Brave Saga". All titles of the Yuusha series are listed below (total of 9, including the game BraveSaga). Note that all title's spelling and English translation are excerpted from the mook "BRAVE Series Complete Manual" (see the chapter 14.5) which seems to be the official one. (Note: I have conflicting information about the aired periods. Now I'm searching for the truth.) Aired period : Total episode number Original title (Japanese) : English translation -------------------------------+------------------------------- '90/02/03-'91/01/26: 48 episodes Yuusha Exkaiser : Exkaiser, the Brave '91/02/02-'92/02/01: 48 episodes Taiyou no Yuusha FighBird : FighBird, the Brave of Sun '92/02/08-'93/01/23: 46 episodes Densetsu no Yuusha DaGarn : DaGarn, the Brave of Legend '93/01/30-'94/01/22: 47 episodes Yuusha Tokkyuu MightGaine : MightGaine, the Brave Express '94/02/05-'95/01/28: 48 episodes Yuusha Keisatsu J-Decker : J-Decker, the Brave Police '95/02/04-'96/01/27: 48 episodes Ougon Yuusha Goldran : Goldran, the Brave of Gold '96/02/03-'97/01/25: 48 episodes Yuusha Shirei Dagwon : Dagwon, the Brave Command '97/02/01-'98/01/31: 49 episodes Yuusha Oh GaoGaiGar : GaoGaiGar, the King of Braves (in the game Brave Saga): N/A Sei-Yuusha BaanGaan or : BaanGaan, the Saint of Brave Yuusha-Seisen BaanGaan or the Brave Crusade All Yuusha series, except for BaanGaan, were sponsored by (mainly) Takata, produced by Sunrise, and broadcasted by Nagoya TV. Takara is the big Japanese toy-maker which have sposored many Anime. Nagoya TV is the Japanese local TV station. Sunrise is very famous Japanese Anime studio, which produced the Gundam series, Votoms, Dirty Pair, and so on. In their recent SF Anime (OVA) "Cowboy Bebop" (good one!), Sunrise uses their "C.G. & hand-drawn" style very effectively. 4) GaGaGa for Dummies 4.1) The Introduction Story (based roughly upon episode 1 and 2) One snowy night, Amami couple who has no child encounter with a huge white lion-shaped robot, which hold a baby in its mouse. When they (exactly, wife) fearfully take that baby, a "lion" suddenly fly away to somewhere. Though puzzling, Amami couple are happy to take that baby as their own child. Eight years after that, the time is 2005 A.D. Without notice, a Zonder appear at the Tokyo Bay, merging with debrises and a passing ship which have kids on its deck, advancing to Shinjyuku where is the heart center of Tokyo. The Japanese Self-Defense Forces' convensional weapon produces no effect, and worse, there are kids as accidental hostage. But there is the hero who stands against that Zonder Robo. His name is Guy the Cyborg, the commander of GGG's Mechanized Unit. The GGG (pronouces as 'three G'), stands for "Gutsy Geoid Guard", are the newly-made Japanese secret defence forces against the Extraterrestrial invasion. To handle huge enemy robot, Guy performs "Fusion" with Galeon, the huge white mecha-lion, and become GaiGar the Mechanoid. Though succeed in rescuing kids on a ship, GaiGar is overwhelmed by Zonder Robo's might. At last, Guy calls on the GGG headquarters to permit performing "Final Fusion". Upon the GGG Governor's Approval, he performs Final Fusion and become GaoGaiGar, the Super Mechanoid, the King of Braves. By tremendous might, GaoGaiGar destroy Zonder Robo and extract its Core from enemy's body. When GaoGaiGar is crushing Core, a mysterious angel-like boy, who has eight wings of light and illuminated by green lights, appear and stop GaoGaiGar. That boy changes Zonder Core to a normal human. In fact, Zonder Core is the Zonder-ized Earth human! The humankind's battle against Zonder is just begining... 4.2) Basic Description In this chapter, I'll explain briefly the GaGaGa's basic human characters, robots, and the enemy. 4.2.1) The Friend GGG (the national secret organization) As wrote above, the GGG (pronouces as 'three G') is the abbreviated word for the "Gutsy Geoid Guard". The GGG's formal Japanese name is "Chikyuu Bouei Yuusha Tai" which is not fit a bit for the Japanese translation of GGG. (For your reference, I translated it as the "Earth-Defence Brave-Brigade".) Organized by the Japanese government, the GGG are the group of ace scientists, engineers, military and others. Their purpose is to defend our planet Earth from the Extraterrestrial menace. It seems that they know beforehand the terror from stars will come down on Earth. And they have marvelous science and technology which grant them creating the massive Yuusha robots and miraculous Tools. Their secret bases are built under the Tokyo bay, where all GGG vehicles and Yuusha-robots launch out. Unlike the impression on its name "Geoid", most GGG's personnel seem to be Japanese. (Only apparent exception is Swan White who is the American.) Shishioh Guy (age:20, gender:male) He's tall and have long, orangish-red straight-hair and blueish eyes. He is the cyborg who become GaiGar and GaoGaiGar, and the captain of the GGG's Kidou Butai (in English, "Mechanized Unit" or "Mobile Force") which are the front-line defenders/combatants against the Extraterrestrial invaders. In combat, he wear the blueish-silver & golden metal-armor and fight invaders with fury, he's otherwise kind and nice guy. Utsugi Mikoto (age:20, gender:female) She have red hairs and blounish eyes. Usually she coiffure her hairs like Bunny's ears which are her trademark. She works in GGG as the operator for the Kidou Butai. Apparently Guy, the Kidou Butai's captain, is her boyfriend. She looks like a girlish, weepy person. Taiga Koutarou (age:45, gender:male) He's tall, a bit affected but very aggressive, dandy gentleman who have blueish-gray eyes and long blonde hairs which are tied at his back. (note: his brows are brown.) He is the GGG's Governor who directs all GGG movement. He also has the leading post of the Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan (which is the Japanese (fictional) counterpart of NASA). Hyuuma Geki (age:45, gender:male) He's macho-giant who have the green (a bit blueish) Mohawk haircut, brownish brows, short-beard, and eyes with light-yellow eyeglasses. He is the GGG's tactical adviser but is hot-blooded and tend to act on his own judgment, unlike usual "tactical adviser". Shishioh Leo (age:70, gender:male) He have gray eyes, bald head with a bit of white-hairs, and white mustachio. He is Guy's father and the great scientist/inventor. He is the head of the GGG's science dept., and act as the GGG's technical and science adviser, giving valuable scientific analysis/advice to the GGG operations. Though he's little figure, he is the cheerful and powerful oldster. Swan White (age:24, gender:female) She have long, curling blonde hairs and blue eyes. She's really cheerful, cute, and sexy. :) She is the assistant of Dr.Leo and the operator of the GGG science dept. She also is the good friend with Mikoto. Entouzi Kousuke (age:27, gender:male) He is slim and messy person who have long black (messy, too) hair and black small eyes. He's the cheif engineer/operator of the GGG intelligence dept. Unlike his grubby looks, he is truly genius who wrote many important computer-programs for GGG. Since his desk is located next to Swan, she sometimes complain of his muck. Ushiyama Kazuo (age:22, gender:male) He is a bit fat, gentle-looks person who have black short-haircut and black small eyes. He's the chief engineer/oprator of the GGG maintenance dept. His youngest brother Sueo is the classmate of Mamoru. Amami Mamoru (age:10, gender:male) He is a common, cheery, and kind boy who have brown hairs and green eyes, until the day the Alien robot appeared at the Tokyo Bay. At that time, he transfigured to somewhat angel-like figure and "cured" enemy. He don't know why he can do such a miracle at all. Amami Ai (age:30, gender:female) She is a tender and ladylike woman who have brown hairs and brown eyes. She is the mother of Mamoru, and full-time housewife. She doesn't know the fact Mamoru have unusual abilities and the existence of GGG. Amami couple don't tell Mamoru (and other) about the "happening" 8 years before. Amami Isamu (age:35, gender:male) He is a bit fat, sweet-tempered gentleman who have black short- haircuts and small black eyes with eysglasses. He is the father of Mamoru, and works for the Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan. He doesn't know the fact Mamoru have unusual abilities and the existence of GGG. Amami couple don't tell Mamoru (and other) about the "happening" 8 years before. Hatsuno Hana (age:10, gender:female) She is the Mamoru's most close friend who have pinkish hairs and brown eyes. She's cheery, cute, but a bit weepy. She doesn't know the fact Mamoru have unusual abilities and the existence of GGG. 4.2.2) The Robot To counter enemy's threat and to protect civilians, GGG use the giant, intelligent robots. Most of them are called the Yuusha (= Brave) robots. Listed below are the such GGG robots. In later episode, more Yuusha robots will be appeared, as you may suspect. :-) Galeon: (length:9.8m(=32.2ft), weight:112.5t(=247,797lbs)) White quadrupedal robot with flying ability, bearing a somewhat resemblance to a lion. Galeon can not speak, only growl like a lion. Galeon seems to own an independent intelligence, but Galeon comply with Guy's direction. Yes, the robot leaving an infant to Amami couple at eight years ago is Galeon. "What on earth is Galeon?" is one of misteries underlying overall story-line. GaiGar: (height:23.5m(=77.1ft),weight:112.8t(=248,458lbs)) After Guy perform "Fusion" with Galeon (i.e., Galeon gets Guy in), Galeon transforms to the humanoid-robot GaiGar. Guy can control GaiGar with freedom, as if Guy himself become GaiGar. GaiGar have few weaponry, but his high agility counterpoises that. GaoGaiGar: (height:31.5m(=103.3ft),weight:630.0t(=1,387,665lbs)) Upon the GGG Gorvener's approval, GaiGar docks with three Gao Machines (consisting of the stealth-fighter "Stealth Gao", the super- express train "Liner Gao", and the drill-tank "Drill Gao"), then become GaoGaiGar. This sequence is called "Final Fusion". GaoGaiGar have NO mundane weaponry such like guns or swords, but rely on his own body for combat. For example, GaoGaiGar can fire the massive rocket- mounted right fist at enemy, causing serious damage. HyoRyu & EnRyu: (height:20.5m(=67.3ft),width:10.5m(=34.4ft),weight: HyoRyu:240t(=528,634lbs),EnRyu:255t(=561,674lbs) They are the "twin-brother" Yuusha robot who can transform the vehicle shape from/to the humanoid shape. In vehicle shape, HyoRyu become the crane-truck and EnRyu become ladder-truck, indicating they aren't designed for a military purpose but for rescueing. In robot shape, they can muster more strength than in vehicle shape and can use some supporting tools. HyoRyu is specialized in manipulating chill/ cold, and has "cold" mentality. EnRyu is specialized in manipulating heat/fire, and has "hot" mentality. Despite the fact that their A.I.s are the same model, they often quarrel with each other. ChoRyuJin: height:28.0m(=91.9ft),weight:495t(=1,090,308lbs) When the situation goes critical, HyoRyu and EnRyu perform "Symmetrical Docking", becoming the one Yuusha-robot named ChoRyuJin. It seems ChoRyuJin is mightier than the might combining both HyoRyu's and EnRyu's. And only ChoRyuJin can use the important miracle-tool "Eraser Head". (By the way, the sequence of Final Fusion and Symmetrical Docking are really spectacular. If you get a chance to watch them, don't miss it!) 4.2.3) The Enemy Good hero story always feature the good enemy. In the GaGaGa, the enemy is called Zonder which are the alien entities whose purpose is completely unknown. They consist of the boss named Pazder and the four generals called Zonderians. Their basic tactics are to change an Earth human to Zonder, by the strange material "Zonder Metal". Such Zonder-ized human become their servant, and usually become the gigantic Zonder Robo. That's the time the Yuusha robots enter the scene. :) The enemy's informations aren't unraveled at early episodes, and will be revealed gradually, like a good Mystery novel. So I'll leave this chapter obscure. 4.3) GaGaGa Around the World In this chapter, I'll write information about GaGaGa aired other than Japan. Since I have no knowledge such "foreign GaGaGa", this chapter is basically and especially supported by you! If you have any info, please tell me. m(..)m Korean version (TV) airing period: Unknown. It seems only episode one was bloadcasted. aired station: Unknown. opening/closing: Lyrics are changed to Korean orginal one, though images aren't. voice acting: Changed to Korean by Korean voice talents. other interest: Several Yusha series, DaGaan, Goldran, MightGaine, J-Dekker (renamed to "K-Cops"?), and Fighbird, were released on TV and VCR. Battled in Japan, mainly at Tokyo. 31-47: Gutsy Geoid/Galaxy Guard vs KiKai 31 Genshu. Battled around the world (exactly China, Egypt, Mexico, and the Arctic Ocean) and space, including the planet Jupiter. 48-49: Gutsy Galaxy Guard (especially Guy) vs Zonuda, the New Species. Battled at Shinjyuku, the heart center of Tokyo and where the first episode was taken place. The Grand Finale. Some people groups episode 31-47 and 48-49 together, though I think it is better that those are taken up as sepalate parts. Titles of each episode are listed later in this text. 4.1) The Introduction Story (based roughly upon episode 1 and 2) One snowy night, Amami couple who has no child encounter with a huge white lion-shaped robot, which hold a baby in its mouse. Listed below are the main constituents of Bay Tower Kichi. Hexagon: the Hexagon is located on midmost of Bay Tower Kichi, and have Main Order Room and six Areas. Hexagon has a propultion (to be accurate, the Ul-tech engine) and, in case of emergency, can escape from Bay Tower Kichi. Main Order Room: This is the headquarters of Gutsy Geoid Guard. GGG Choukan, Dr. Leo, and chief operators of each section are stationed here. Main Order Room is located right above Big Order Room. Main Order Room itself can go down to Big Order Room. Big Order Room: This is the huge room for the council of war. Guy and Yuusha Robots are stationed here. (To be accurate, Guy spend lots of time at the maintenance room for maintaining his life. Also, He sometimes show his face at Main Order Room.) Area: Gutsy Geoid Guard have six vessels. Those vessels can submerge and dock with Hexagon. During docking with Hexagon, those are called as "Area" and act the part of GGG facilities. Once departed from Hexagon, each Area are then called by its own name. All Areas and its description are listed below, using a format like "Area #: (Japanese name / official English name)". Area 1: (Sandan Hikou Kanpan Kuubo / Triple Flying Decked Carrier) This carrier ship has triple flying-deck and capability of flying and submerging. Its main usage is to carry Hyoryu, Enryu, and Galeon (sometimes Dividing Driver). Two of triple flying-deck (1st (top) and 2nd (bottom)) are the Mirror Catapults. In later episode (#30), 2nd deck's Mirror Catapult is converted to Mirror Ryuushi Hou. The 3rd (middle) deck is for Galeon/GaiGar. Area 2: (Kyousyuu Youriku Hokyuu Sen / Landing and Supply Assult Ship) This ship stores Tools (Eraser Head and Dividing Driver) and Tool- Robots (Plyers and Goldy Marg). Unlike other Yuusha Robots, Goldy Marg is on board this ship during operations since he was created as the supporter of the Goldion Hummer. Area 3: (Dangan X / Projectile X) Its offcial English name is "Projectile X", though a Japanese word Dangan can be translated to Bullet and/or Shell. So it may also be interpreted as "Bullet X". Dangan X is a huge (can store Yuusha Robots in it), bullet-shaped, self-propellant special equipment. It seems that Dangan X originally was the G Stone laboratory. Once Dangan X had the special room named "X-Room" where Mikoto met with the cyborg Guy about two years ago, though whether X-Room is still remained or not is not known. Now, Dangan X's function is to release ALL intensional power which G Stones have, making Yuusha Robots (include GaoGaiGar) unbelievablly strong. But its effect is temporal and, after such boosted-up period, G Stone lose all its power. If this happen, Yuusha Robots and GaoGaiGar (include Guy) will die. It was used only once (in the episode 30). Area 4: (Suiriku Ryouyou Seibi Soukousha / Amphibious Armoured Maintenance Vehicle) This submergible vehicle have caterpillar, so it can move on ground freely. Its function is to maintain and repair Yuusha Robots. After combat, Yuusha Robots take washing and disinfecting here. Since GaoGaiGar can not disconnect ("Fusion Out") by himself, Suiriku Ryouyou Seibi Soukousha have equipments to do that. Area 5: (Tazigen Chouhou Sensuikan / Submergible Multi-dimension Intelligence Ship) This vehicle belongs to GGG intelligence dept and Volfogg stations here. Note that this vehicle can not penetrate another dimention but have the Multi-Dimensional Computer which can calculate and evaluate complex multidirectional situation in a moment. That computer is independent of Bay Tower Kichi's computer system. Tazigen Chouhou Sensuikan has an airplane named Fly 1 on its bows, though that airplane is not used in the show at all. I strongly _suspect_ that this "submarine + airplane" design might be derived from Sky Diver (a submarine shown in 1969's SF TV show: Gerry Anderson's UFO). Similarity of each airplane's name (Fly 1 and Sky 1) suggest that, but there is no proof. Area 6: (3-shiki Kuuchuu Kenkyuujyo / Ultra Technology Laboratory) There is defference between its official Japanese name and English one. Its Japanese name "3-shiki Kuuchuu Kenkyuujyo" can be translated to "3-type Aerial Laboratory" or such. There is no explanation what "3-shiki" means. I suspect this laboratory was completed at 2003 AD maybe. This mobile laboratory's task is to research and analyze many scientific subject such as advanced alien technologies, G Stones, and Zonders. This laboratory is experimentally equipped with prototypal Ul-Tech engine which grant a flight ability. 7.2) Main Constituents of Orbit Base Orbit Base, the Gutsy Galaxy Guard's space-station base, are consisted of headquaters, living space, facilities for recreation, hanger, catapult for Mics, power reactor, and so on. Once GGG personnels are on duty, they can not return to Earth for some weeks. Listed below are the main constituents of Orbit Base. Main Order Room: When Bay Tower Kichi was destroyed (in episode 31), Hexagon (and Gutsy Geoid Guard's personnel) escaped to, and docked with, Orbit Base. Main Order Room is located right above Second Order Room and can go down to there. Second Order Room: Many scientists station here to do scientific analysis. Dr.Laiga stations here as the responsible person. Big Order Room: It seems that Orbit Base has no Big Order Room, replaced by Second Order Room. PS System: PS stands for "Protect Shade". This is Orbit Base's defensive equipment. If Orbit Base is attacked by enemy, PS System is activated, generating Protect Shade to absorb attack. Also see Protect Shade. Gravity Generator: Originally invented by Dr.Hirata, this device produces artificial gravity for supplying solid footing to GGG personnel and keeping an altitude of Orbit Base. Division: Gutsy Galaxy Guard has four spacecrafts. Those spacecrafts can be shattled to the ground and dock with Orbit Base. During docking with Orbit Base, those are called as "Division" and act the part of GGG facilities. Once departed from Orbit Base, each Division are then called by its own name. Names of all Division are derived from the Japanese mythology (polytheism), though there seems to be no apparent (at best to say, dim) relationship between Division's function and these mythological name. All Divisions and its description are listed below, using a format like "Division #: ship type in Japanese / English, and (name)". Note that the English type-names are derived from the official source (LD's inner jacket, written in English). Since there are difference between the Japanese type-name and the English one, I added the made- by-me version of the English type-names in the description. No, I don't know why such _international_ organization like Gutsy Galaxy Guard used the name of _Japanese_ mythology. :-) Division 1: Kousoku Ten-Sou Shashutsu Bokan / High mobility forward deploying projection carrier, (Izanagi) Izanagi, the Fast Rolling-Cylinder Delivering Mothership, has a huge cylinder at center of its body and a Mirror Catapult which leads straight from cylinder to ship's bow, making Izanagi's appearance something like a revolver pistol. In fact, Izanagi does not deliver cylinder itself but cylinder's contents ("bullets"), which are Yuusha Robots. Also, Izanagi's Mirror Catapult can be used as Mirror Ryuushi Hou. In the Japanese mythology, Izanagi (to be accurate, Izanagi-no- mikoto) is the Man god who created (with the Woman goddess Izanami-no- mikoto) the country of Japan and Japanese gods. He is the father of Amaterasu and Susanoh. Division 2: Bannou Rikisaku Kyougaku Kan / Multi purpose special machine ship, (Kanayago) Kanayago, the All-Purpose Effort Surprise-Ship, has about 600 of the Tool Robots named "Carpenters" who can repair any phisical damage in a moment. Kanayago and Carpenters appeared at the very last moment of the final episode. That is the big *surprise* to audience. :D In the Japanese mythology, Kanayago (to be accurate, Kanayago-gami) is the god of iron, fire, and blacksmith. Division 3: 100-shiki Sireibu Tazigen Kan / Spaceborne Multidimentional Warning/Reconnaissance/Command system, (Susanoh) Susanoh, the 100-type Command Multi-Dimention Ship, is the renewal version of Tazigen Chouhou Sensuikan and has the strong weapon Reflector Beam. Like its predecessor, one mobile vessel named Murakumo, Kyoushuu Teisatsu Tei (the Assault Reconnaissance Cutter is the official English name and, for reference, my translation is the Assault Scout Boat), is on its bow. Volfogg is stationed here. What "100-shiki" means is not known at all. In the Japanese mythology, Susanoh (to be accurate, Susanoh-no- mikoto) is the hero-god who defeated the evil monster "Yamata no Orochi" and got the holy sword "Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi" (a.k.a. "Kusanagi no Tsurugi" which is one of the Three Sacred Treasures of the Imperial House) from monster's carcass. I can't find out the god Murakumo, so maybe the Assault Reconnaissance Cutter's name is derived from the Susanoh's sword. Division 4: Zen'iki Soudou Hoshuu Kan / High mobility twin body Supply and Maintenance ship, (Amaterasu) Amaterasu, the Whole Field Remedying Catamaran, is the renewal version of Suiriku Ryouyou Seibi Soukousha. Usually, Yuusha robots are stationed here. (In case of emergency, they may be transferred to Izanagi which has the Mirror Catapult.) In the Japanese mythology, Amaterasu (to be accurate, Amaterasu- Ohmikami) is the Japanese Sun-Goddess and the ancestor of the Emperor of Japan family. 8) In-depth Information In this chapter, I wrote the individual information about items, places, human and robot characters, and so on. For human characters, I used the format like "Name: gender, age, first episode# at which one is shown: one's description". 8.1) GGG personnel Shishioh Guy: male,20,#1: "The Iron Cyborg". "The Mightiest Cyborg in the Humankind's History". "The Cyborg Guy". He is kind but hot- blooded young man who has a strong sense of justice. Originally, he wanted to become an astronaut to reach at the planet Jupiter, to "pick up" his mother who was lost at the planet Jupiter 8 years ago. Two years ago, Guy became the youngest astronaut around the world (at that time, his age was 18). During his first flight, his shuttle was crushed and destroyed by the alien invader named Pazder, which later classified by GGG as EI-01. Mortally wounded Guy was rescued and brought back to Earth by the alien white mecha-lion named Galeon. Leo, his father and brilliant scientist, decided to revive his son as a cyborg. In that proccess, 90% of his body are replaced by machines. One G-Stone embedded in his left forearm act as his important human faculties which can not be reproduced by machines, such as immune system. His long red hairs are, in fact, tin tubes for storing cyborg- parts' fuel (some kind of battery). By the way, Guy's favorite food is Gyuudon (a bowl of rice topped with beef), and least favorite food is Kon'nyaku (a devil's tongue jelly). In episode 20, he eats Gyuudon. Yes, he can eat and drink like a normal human, though diets are burnt in his mechanical body and become no nourishment. That's only for his mental health. Shishioh Leo: male,70,#1: Guy's father. As a brilliant scientist, he is in the service of GGG's technical and science adviser, and the head of science section which designed Gao machines and Yuusha robots. He also invented the Ul-Tech engines. Once he was the "Dr. L" who was the unidentified patron of I.D.5. He also is the inventor of many social (i.e., non-military) items. Shishioh Liger: male,72,#23: Guy's uncle and Leo's elder brother. He is in the service of U.S. and designer of Mic Sounders. In later episode (#32), he was transferred to Gutsy Galaxy Guard. He always quarrel with his younger brother Leo, though they are tied strongly with the bonds of brotherhood. Utsugi Mikoto: female,20,#1: One of GGG operators and be in charge of Kidou Butai. She is Guy's girlfriend since they are at high school. She keeps her love for Guy even after he became a cyborg, and serve him faithfully. To Guy who is forced to live a painful life as a cyborg, her existence is the very mental prop. At 2 year ago, when Pazder was dropped down to Earth, her parents were perished by a fire caused by Pazder's landing, and only Mikoto was survived. Mikoto has encounered with Pazder momently at that time. Taiga Koutarou: male,45,#1: The GGG's Choukan (in English, "Governor"). Hs is cool but very aggressive and has keen sence. Once he was the leader of I.D.5, so (or not so) he is particular about being a Yuusha. He said many Yuusha-related phrase, like "Yuusha can do that!", "Offset the success-rate shortage by your courage! That is Yuusha!". He also holds the post of Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's Sousai (in English, also "Governer") until episode 35. Hyuuma Geki: male,45,#1: He is the tactical adviser of GGG. He is machos and hot-blooded, tend to act on his own judgment, and has an impressive mohawk haircut. He is the former member of I.D.5 and an old friend with Taiga. He sometimes call Taiga as childish "Kou-chan", which Taiga dislikes. Goldy Marg's Super-A.I. is modeled after his personality. Entouzi Kousuke: male,27,#1: One of GGG operators, who belongs to intelligence dept. He is the tarented computer engineer and has an IQ 300, though he's very messy man. He wrote Gutsy Geoid Guard's computer system, though it seem that its OS were originally written by his father who was the member of I.D.5. Swan White: female,24,#1: One of GGG operators and Leo's assistant, who belongs to science dept. She is a cheerful American, and have big 'tarents'.:-D She also is a good friend with Mikoto. She can use many languages, with heavy English accent though. Stalion White: male,28,#29: One of GGG engineers and Liger's assistant. He is a mild American and Swan's elder brother. Mic Sounders' Super- A.I. are modeled after his personality. Though his usual looks and behavior are mild, he also is the punk rocker. Ushiyama Kazuo: male,22,#1: One of GGG operators, who belongs to maintenance dept. He is a firstborn and have three brothers. He tends to leak GGG's confidential informations to his brothers. Note that his youngest brother Sueo is a classmate of Mamoru. Nozaki Tooru: male,????,#11/32: He is an excellent scientist who planned the giant particle-accelerator named Isolde. But his faith in science was exploited by Pazder who want to make Isolde to Zonder Metal Plant. Eventually Pazder's plot was stopped by GGG (in episode 11). In later episode (#32), he become Gutsy Galaxy Guard's personnel and is stationed at Second Order Room. Inubouzaki Minoru: male,????,#15/32: He is an excellent computer engineer. When Gutsy Geoid Guard was organized, he was assured of becoming GGG's chief computer engineer. But that position was taken up by Entouzi. Since then, he have a spite against Entouzi. Zonderian Pinchernone exploit his resentment to attack GGG Bay Tower Kichi (in episode 15). In later episode (#32), he become Gutsy Galaxy Guard's personnel and is stationed at Second Order Room. Hirata Akiko: female,????,#21/32: She is an excellent scientist who invented an artificial gravity generator. Her eagerness for success was exploited by Zonderian Primarda and Polonaise (in episode 21). In later episode (#32), she become Gutsy Galaxy Guard's personnel and is stationed at Second Order Room. Amami Mamoru: male,10(?),#1: A boy who has ability of JyouKai and Zonder-sensing. Due to these ability, Mamoru became the especial personnel of GGG in the episode 3. When he use his special ability, his entire body are illuminated by green light, 8 wings made of light are sprouted on his back, the sign which also appears on G Stones are appeared on his forehead, and his forelock stands up. When that status, he can also fly. In fact, he was sent to Earth by Galeon and entrusted to Amami couple who had no child. He is NOT an Earth human. At first (until episode 40), Mamoru himself did not know that. When he does JyouKai, he chants a spell which is derived from some Latin word. His chant can be heard as "Kuula Tio! Tenelitaasu, Sekutioo, Saluusu, Kokutuula!". At the last moment of JyouKai, he falls his left hand to Zonder Core which then transform back to a normal human. At first, Mamoru's JyouKai does not have an effect on the Core of Genshu. But at episode 37, after Cain unlocks Mamoru's all power (i.e., his power was restricted until that point), Mamoru can JyouKai on Genshu Core. Since then, Mamoru uses his both hand at JyouKai. Note that GaoGaiGar's left hand symbolizes "Defence" and right hand symbolizes "Attack".) 8.2) Robots & Vehicles Galeon: Two years ago, this huge white lion-shaped mecha shot down Pazder, saved Guy's life, and brought him to Earth with G-stones, warning about Zonder's invasion, and advanced technologies. Yuusha robots are based upon such Galeon-brought technology. Eight years ago, Galeon also brought Mamoru (Latio) to Amami couple. Amami couple calls Galeon as "that huge North-Pole Lion". Pazder and Genshu call Galeon as "Cain no Isan"("Legacy of Cain"). When Mamoru is in danger, Galeon will spur on him at any cost. In fact, Galeon has Cain's will in it (shown in episode 46). White is Galeon's symbolic color. GaiGar: the Mechanoid which fused Guy and Galeon. GaiGar is very agile but have few weapon (only GaiGar Claw). Though Guy takes the initiative in controlling GaiGar's body, Galeon seems to retain his consciousness after becoming GaiGar and GaoGaiGar. White is GaiGar's symbolic color. GaoGaiGar: the Super Mechanoid which docked GaiGar and three Gao machines. GaoGaiGar is less agile than GaiGar but has supreme attack and defence ability. GaoGaiGar's right hand represents his "Attack" ability, and left hand represents his "Defence" ability. Black is GaoGaiGar's symbolic color. Gao Machines: Stands for Drill Gao, Stealth Gao (or Stealth Gao II), and Liner Gao. After becoming GaoGaiGar, these act as GaiGar's external armour and fortification. Drill Gao: The fictional twin-headed drill-tank. Drill Gao become GaoGaiGar's knees and lower legs. There are no apparent original machine for Drill Gao. Stealth Gao: The stealth fighter apparently modeld after U.S. airforce's Stealth Bomber. Stealth Gao become GaoGaiGar's helmet, hind, hands, and forearms. Stealth Gao can transport up to 2 personnel and Liner Gao. Stealth Gao can not fly through low atmospheric-pressure/vacuums for a long time, for that is a kind of a jet fighter. Stealth Gao II: The powered-up version of Stealth Gao can fly though vacuums with no problem. Two Phantom Rings are mounted on the tip of nacelle. Liner Gao: Modeled after the Japanese passenger train, Shinkansen #500 line. Liner Gao become GaoGaiGar's shoulder and upper arms. Hyoryu & Enryu: Twin Brother robots. Since wake-up of Hyoryu's AI is farster (only 5 seconds) than Enryu's, Hyoryu is recognized as an "elder brother". They have same basic design and type of Super-AI, though their personality are just the opposite. It is said that is caused by their special equipments. They are especially designed for rescueing and supporting. Also see Hyoru and Enryu. Hyoryu: Usually disguised as a crane truck in Vehicle mode, Hyoryu is designed to handle cold. His personality is very cool and premeditative. Blue is Hyoryu's symbolic color. Enryu: Usually disguised as a ladder truck in Vehicle mode, Enryu is designed to handle heat. His personality is very hot and impulsive. He has a Mirror Shield. Red is Enryu's symbolic color. Furyu & Rairyu: Another Twin Brother robots. They were constructed in the People's Republic of China, based upon the design of Hyuryu and Enryu which is provided from the U.N.(i.e. GGG). Since boot-up of Furyu's AI is farster (only 7 seconds) than Rairyu's, Furyu is recognized as an "elder brother". Unlike Hyuryu and Enryu, they are re-designed and programmed mainly for combatting. So they can not understand what "save other's life" at first. Also see Furyu and Rairyu. Furyu: Usually disguised as a truck mixer in Vehicle mode, Furyu is designed to handle air and wind. Furyu is recognized as Rairyu's elder brother. His personality is very cool and premeditative. Green is Furyu's symbolic color. Rairyu: Usually disguised as a dump truck in Vehicle mode, Rairyu is designed to handle thunder and electricity. His personality is very hot and impulsive. Yellow is Rairyu's symbolic color. Choryujin: The behicle robo which docks Hyoryu and Enryu symmetrically. (Hyoryu bocome Choryujin's right half, and Enryu become left half.) Gekiryujin: The behicle robo which docks Furyu and Rairyu symmetrically. (Furyu bocome Gekiryujin's right half, and Rairyu become left half.) Goryujin: The behicle robo which docks Enryu and Furyu symmetrically. (Furyu bocome Goryujin's right half, and Enryu become left half.) Genryujin: The behicle robo which docks Hyoryu and Rairyu symmetrically. (Hyoryu bocome Genryujin's right half, and Rairyu become left half.) Gun Machines: A general term for Gun Dober and Gun Glue. Gun Dober: A.I. driven large motorcycle which can be remote-controlled by Bolfogg. Guy and Geki sometimes use Gun Dober as his vehicle. Gun Dober can transform to Hover mode (which grant a flight ability) and robot. Note that its A.I. is not Super A.I. Gun Glue: A.I. driven combat helicopter which can be remote-controlled by Bolfogg. Geki sometimes uses Gun Glue as his vehicle. Gun Glue can transform to robot. Note that its A.I. is not Super A.I. Bolfogg: Ninja-robot which belongs to GGG intelligence dept. He have many special equipments and sensors which no other robot has. His task is to collect information about Zonder's activity and to guard Mamoru. He act as Mamoru's secret bodyguard, and sometimes act even as his mentor. His Super-A.I. is modeled after the personality of the intelligence agent Inugami Kirio who is shown only in the Drama CD #2. Purple is Bolfogg's symbolic color. Big Bolfogg: A robot which docks Gun Machines and Bolfogg. Though his name has the word "Big", he is not so big as other Yuusha robots like Choryujin and GaoGaiGar. He is lightweight fighter even after becoming Big Bolfogg. Goldy Marg: Goldy Marg is constructed in haste to support G-Tool and GaoGaiGar. Since there are not enough time to educate, Goldy Marg's Super-A.I. is modeled after Hyuuma's personality. So he, too, is hot- blooded and tend to act on his own judgment. Goldy Marg can transform to Tank mode, Robo mode, and Tool mode (separating into Goldion Hammer and Marg Hand). In Tank mode, he can climb up at any angle. In Robo mode, he carrys Goldion Hammer on his back. While he is in Tool mode, his Super-A.I. is transferred to Goldion Hammer. Orange is Goldy Garg's symbolic color. Mic Sounders: Originally designed as an space interceptor, NASA and U.S. militaly created Mic Sounders. There are 13 Mics, from the 1st to the 13th. And the 13th, not the 1th, is their captain. They have the special catastrophic weapon named Solitary-wave Riser, which produces specialized solitary wave which potentially destroy Earth itself. To prevent mishappenly use it, Mic is disguised (transforms) himself as a Cosmo-Robo, which have kiddish personality and no combat ability. In Cosmo-Robo mode, his only weapon is his courage. :D In contrast, his true identity, Boom-Robo mode, has an adult mentality and can use special Disks. By using Disks, Mic can boost-up GS-Ride's power ("Disk P"), temporarily stop enemy robot's movement ("Disk M"), and produces the solitaly wave ("Disk X"). Unlike other Yuusha robots, Mic's symbolic color is not clear. The key color of all Mics is sky- blue, though the 13th is painted as somewhat like the Stars-and- Stripes. Plyers: Plyers consists of 3 Tool Robots (DP-C1, DP-L2, and DP-R3). They are made in the U.S. They can docked and become Dimension Plyer, the Space-Reparing Tool. It seems they have normal A.I. Carpenters: Based upon Plyers, handreds of Carpenters are created. They are Tool Robots who can repair dameged and/or destroyed materials very quickly. They appeared only at the very end of the last episode (#49). Piggy: This is a waitperson robot who serve Robo-Juice to Yuusha Robots. Marine 1: Gutsy Geoid Guard's submarine appeared only in episode 10. Climber 1: Gutsy Galaxy Guard's space supply-ship for Yuusha Robots appeared only in episode 38. J-Ark: J-Ark, the Anti-Genshu Superdreadnought Space-Battleship, was made by Abel. Genshu calls J-Ark as "Abel no Nokoseshi Wazawai" ("Woe which Abel left"). J-Bard: J-Ark's 1st bridge can detach from J-Ark and become J-Bard, the Space Cruiser. J-Carrier: This is the J-Bird-detached J-Ark. Tomoro and Arma are stationed J-Carrier. J-Dar: Soldato-J merges ("Fusion") with J-Bard and become the mechanoid J-Der. J-Der is extreme agile. King J-Dar: J-Dar docks ("Mega Fusion") with J-Carrier and become the superdreadnought mechanoid King J-Der. J-Ark, J-Carrier, and (King) J- Der's symbolic color are white. 8.3) Tools Dividing Driver: In an urban area, huge robots' combat may cause severe damage to city and civilian. To avoid that, GGG created Dividing Driver which looks like a huge screwdriver attached to GaoGaiGar's left hand and forearm. Dividing Driver can 'bend' normal space by Arresting Field and insert Dividing Field into that bended- space, creating a clear battlefield. That battlefield's border has a large amount of curvature, so most explosion and/or beam occured within a battlefield can not escape outside, thus no harm is caused to city. Due to its space-bending ability, Dividing Driver has many unique and practical usage. Gattling Driver: Gattling Driver is the modefied version of Dividing Driver and seems to have an ability to bend space freely. GaoGaiGar use it mainly to make the Gravity Lens. There are few information about Gattling Driver. Eraser Head: While Dividing Driver can make a safe battlefield, it can not prevent damage which is already causing or occurs outside that field. Eraser Head, as its name suggests, can 'erase' (ejecting out from Earth to space) any physical and electro-magnetic energy such as explosion, by viblating Eraser Head's morecular. To match with a scale of target, GGG prepared three different level of Eraser Head (Normal, L, LL). Due to its kickback, only Choryujin can use Eraser Head. It is not certain Gekiryujin (and other) can handle Eraser Head or not. G-Tool: The Gravity-shockwave generating Tool. a.k.a. Goldion Hammer. See Goldion Hammer. Goldion Hammer: a.k.a. G-Tool. Goldion Hammer looks like a gigantic (larger than GaoGaiGar!) golden hammer. It produces gravity-shockwave which causes catastrophic effect to its target, like going into the surface of Black Hole. According to the modern physics, any substance can not stand against such effect but become particles of light. Marg Hand: G-Tool's catastrophic power is lethal not only for its target but also its user, GaoGaiGar himself. To use such a suicidal tool safely, extreme durable and powerful Marg Hand was constructed. When GaoGaiGar uses G-Tool, Marg Hand become GaoGaiGar's huge right hand (which holds G-Tool), protecting GaoGaiGar from G-Tool's kickback. Dimension Plyer: The Space Repairing Tool, Dimension Plyer looks like a huge nipper which is made of three Plyers docked in one form. Dimension Plyer can manipulate space to remove an alien space Chou Zigen Pod from Dividing Field (in episode 17), and to remove some parallel space (in episode 26). Once GGG used Dimension Plyer to protect GaoGaiGar from Goldion Hammer's kickback (in episode 20). Phantom Ring: Usually tipped on the naccels of Stealth Gao II, Phantom Rings can boost-up GaoGaiGar's attack and defence abilities. When at use, these Rings pop the naccel out and revolve about GaoGaiGar's forearm. There is few information about Phantom Ring, so how these Rings grant GaoGaiGar a power-up is less known. Pencil Launcher: This is the equipment for Hyoryu and Enryu. This pencil-like-looking (which suggest its name) rifle gun can shoot bullets of many type such as capuring nets, hardener, and so on. Note that Pencil Launcher is not a weapon, but a tool. Dividing Driver Transporter: This is the freight train for transporting the Dividing Driver. When in use, this train is joined with Liner Gao. 8.4) Attack/Defence Will Knife: This heat-reducting knife is Guy's only weapon which is stored in his Gao Brace. Its degree of sharpness can be changed freely by Guy's will. (This explains its name's origin.) Galeon Fang: Galeon can attack by its fangs. Galeon Claw: Galeon can attack by its claws. Original of Melting Siren: Two years ago, Galeon melted Pazder's shield by his howl. That was analyzed by GGG and eventually reproduced as Melting Siren. GaiGar Claw: After becoming GaiGar, Galeon's forepaw become to GaiGar's arm. So GaiGar can use Galeon's claws as his weapon. Broken Magnum: GaoGaiGar can fire his rocket-mounted right fist. This attack is named Broken Magnum. Do you know "Rocket Punch"? :-D For English readers, rewording to "Breaking Magnum" makes sense? (Note that GaoGaiGar's right hand symbolizes an attack.) Broken Phantom: Powered-up version of Broken Magnum is boosted by Phantom Ring. Protect Shade: GaoGaiGar can temporaly warp space around his left hand to avoid (sometimes reflect) enemy's attack. That technique is named Protect Shade. For English readers, rewording to "Shade of Protection" makes sense? (Note that GaoGaiGar's left hand symbolizes a defence.) GaoGaiGar can stretch Protect Shade aroungd his entire body, though this was used only in episode 19. Protect Wall: Powered-up version of Protect Shade is boosted by Phantom Ring. Plasma Hold: Apeared only in the episode 2 and 49, this technique holds enemy's movement by plasma bursting from GaoGaiGar's left hand. Drill Knee: After becoming GaoGaiGar, Drill Gao's two drills make GaoGaiGar's knees. GaoGaiGar can use them to attack enemy. Hell and Heaven: This is the GaoGaiGar's final blow. Combining GaoGaiGar's power of left hand (stands for Defence) and right hand (stands for Attack), GaoGaiGar dashes his fists against Zonder Robo, crushing into Zonder Robo's body until reaching its Core, then pulling out that Core. Very effective attack to destroy Zonder Robo and extract its Core at the same time. But it also has a severe drawback which cause extreme burden to Guy and shorten his life as Guy use it. Upon using Hell and Heaven, Guy chants a spell which seems to be derived from some Latin word. It can be heard as "Gimu Gilu Gan Goo Gufoo". Note that, in episode 38, Mamoru chant "Gimu Gilu Gan Goo Gufoo, Weeta!" and make a gesture of Hell and Heaven, when he disspate the Core of Z-Master. Upon his monologue, this spell has the meaning "combining two powers in one", which shows the characteristics of Hell and Heaven. Hammer Hell and Heaven: To reduce Guy's burden by using Hell and Heaven, GGG invented this new final blow which use Goldion Hammer and Marg Hand. Due to its catastrophic capability, activating G-Tool needs Approval of both Choukan and operator. The procedure of Hammer Hell and Heaven are shown below. a) GGG Choukan has the "Gold Key" which represents the Japanese Prime Minister's Approval to use Goldion Hammer. When Choukan approves to atcivate Goldion Hammer, he use that key to unlock G-tool activation console. (After episode 32, that Gold Key represents the approval of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.) b) Mikoto has the special "Gold Card" which can release G-Tool's safety. Under Choukan's Approval and unlocking, Mikoto's console changes to G-tool activation console. She uses her Gold Card on that console and release G-Tool's safety. c) Now, Goldy Marg transforms ("System Change") to Marg Hand and Goldion Hammer. d) GaoGaiGar's right hand and forearm are stored back to Stealth Gao. e) Marg Hand docks to GaoGaiGar and become his right hand and forearm. (Guy yells "Hammer Connect!") f) Then, Marg Hand grips Goldion Hammer tightly. g) Guy, GaoGaiGar (include Marg Hand), and Goldion Hammer become illuminated by golden light, looks like Guy is in Hyper Mode. (Guy yells "Goldion Hammer!") h) GaoGaiGar draws a large "peg" made of light(?) from Marg Hand's side. i) GaoGaiGar hammers that "peg" into Zonder Robo's Core. (Guy yells "Hammer Hell!") j) GaoGaiGar pulls out that Core-holding-"peg" by Marg Hand's claw. (Guy yells "Hammer Heaven!") k) GaoGaiGar holds the extracted Core by his left hand. "Peg" fades away. l) GaoGaiGar strikes down Core-extracted Zonder Robo by Goldion Hammer. Due to Goldion Hammer's gravity-shockwave, entire Zonder Robo turns to particles of light and, thus, disappear. (Guy yells "Hikari ni nare!", in Engish, "Turn to light!") Freezing Gun: Hyoryu's handgun can fire a chill. Freezing Rifle: He can use his Power Crane as the cold-firing-rifle. Ul-Tech Rifle: After equipped with Ul-Tech engine, his Freezing Rifle is upgraded and become Ul-Tech Rifle. Chest Thriller: Hyoryu has the build-in chill generator in his chest. He can evolve such chill by opening his chest. The degree of chill can be changed by his chest mounted dial. He uses Chest Thriller especially for extinguishing fire. Power Crane: After transformed to Robot mode, his Power Crane is moved to his back. He can use it freely, especially when he want to concentrate his might on a single point. Melting Gun: Enryu's handgun can fire a heat. Melting Rifle: He can use his Power Ladder as the flame-firing-rifle. Ul-Tech Rifle: After equipped with Ul-Tech engine, his Melting Rifle is upgraded and become Ul-Tech Rifle. Chest Warmer: Hyoryu has the build-in heat generator in his chest. He can evolve such heat by opening his chest. The degree of heat can be changed by his chest mounted dial. He uses it only once (in episode 34). Power Ladder: After transformed to Robot mode, his Power Ladder is moved to his back. He can use it freely, especially when he want to concentrate his might on a single point. Mirror Shield: This is the Enryu's unique equipment. It seems that Mirror Shield is coated by Mirror Ryuushi (its name also suggest that), so it can absorb/reflect enemy's attack. Since they are the Chinese robots, names of their equipment & action seem to be based upon the Chinese language. If a symbol "(?)" is attached after the name, it means I can't find out its correct (or, at least official) spelling. I have no knowledge of the Chinese language. ;-( Like Hyoryu and Enryu, Furyu and Rairyu have a dial named Ganshao Byao(?) on their chest. They can change their Tigao(?, in English "Level") by using that dial. Each Tigao(?) has defferent effect. Furyu have the special equipment Jaodanzii(?) and Feng Daodan. Tigao(?) 1: Flying by Jaodanzii(?). Tigao(?) 2, Feng Daodan: Launching high-compressed-air missiles from his mixer. Tigao(?) 3: Intercepting incoming attack by storm. Tigao(?) 4: Blowing away target by storm. Rairyu have the special equipment Dian-zhuanghuo which is the tray when he is in vehicle mode, and Reiduun(?) which seems to be the electricity-generator. Tigao(?) 1: Flying by Dian-zhuanghuo. Tigao(?) 2: Paralyzing target by electric shock. Tigao(?) 3: Making electro-magnetic shield. Tigao(?) 4, Rei(?): Attacking by electro-discharging. Double Gun: After docking, Hyoryu's Freezing Gun and Enryu's Melting Gun become Choryujin's both arm. Cyuryujin can fire both Gun together. Double Tonfa: After docking, Hyoryu's Power Crane and Enryu's Power Ladder become Choryujin's waist-mounted Double Tonfa which can be used as a bashing and supporting tool. Shuang Tou Long: Gekiryujin's final blow. This seems to be a chinese word "Double-Headed Dragon". Gekiryujin can emit the outrush of energy from both arm against multiple targets, and can controll its destination freely. Burning Hurricane: It is apparent this attack is made from the combination of both Enryu and Furyu's ability. Since this attack is rarely shown, detailed information is not known. Thunder Blizzard: It is apparent this attack is made from the combination of both Rairyu and Hyoryu's ability. Since this attack is rarely shown, detailed information is not known. Aurora Illusion: Genryujin can make many illution of himself to confuse enemy. Since this technique is rarely shown, detailed information is not known. Maximam Tou Long: Their final blow. It is apparent that is the variant of Shuang Tou Long, though there is few information. Fog Gas: To blind and confuse enemy, Volfogg can emit special gas. Volfogg can project some illusion on this gas. Also see Projection Beam. Projection Beam: Once Fog Gas are emitted, Volfogg can project something illusion(s) on it by Projection Beam, which is projected from his shoulder-mounted projectors. Holographic Camouflage: This is a kind of optical camouflage. By changing visible light's index of refraction (around Volfogg), he can be "blended" visibly with his background scenery. While he is in Holographic Camouflage, he can move. While in that state, other robots seem not to be able to sense him, so maybe he uses some sensor- jamming simultaneously. Naizou Mirror-Coating: In English, "On-board Mirror-Coating Device". Among Yuusha robots, only he has such special device (though Mic's vehicle Baribariin has that device). He uses it in many purpose. Silver Moon: a new-moon-shaped large syuriken (a Japanese throwing knife which was used by Ninja). When in use, it is coated by Mirror Ryuushi. Volfogg have (at least) two Silver Moon. Silver Cross: Volfogg combines two Silver Moon to make one Silver Cross. Silver Cross has more destructive potencial than Silver Moon. Double Boomerang: Unlike Silver Cross, Volfogg sometimes throw two Silver Moon independently. Melting Siren: Two years ago, Galeon broke through Pazder's barrier by his growl. GGG analyzed that and made its copy, Melting Siren. Disguied as a siren of police car, it can "melt" barrier which Zonder generates. Melting Siren can be used when Volfogg is in any mode. Jet Wapper: This is a self-propellant giant handcuff connected Volfogg with stout wire. He can fire Jet Wapper at designated target. Also Volfogg can use Jet Wapper when he's Big Volfogg. Iron Collar: Gun Dober has a spiked collar which can be thrown as an attack. As far as I can remember, Iron Collar is used only once (in episode 14). Dober Gun: Gun Dober can fire his chest-mounted blasters. As far as I checked, it is used only once (in episode 14). Chain Gun: As a combat helicopter, Gun Glue has a chain-gun on its nose (in vehicle mode). This weapon seems not to be used at all. Tri-Feather: Gun Glue can scatter this three-feathered probe/bomb around. This item is not used in the show at all. 4,000 Magnum: This is the four-barrelled blaster mounted on his right forearm. It seems Big Volfogg tend to use it at close range. Murasame Sword: Big Volfogg uses his Mirror-coated rotor on his left forearm as his sword and shield. Chou Bunshin Sappou: Volfogg, Gun Dober, and Gun Glue are coated by Mirror Ryuushi, then they perform docking and separation in quick succession to confuse enemy and to attack enemy's blind side. Dai-Kaiten Ma-Dan: Big Volfogg can shoot Mirror Ryuushi around by rotating Mirror-coated himself furiously. Since other Yuusha robots around him don't take any damage, he might be able to aim at desired target(s). Dai-Kaiten Dai-Ma-Dan: Almost same with Dai-Kaiten Ma-Dan, except for not shooting Mirror Ryuuushi, but dashing Mirror-coated himself against enemy. Since Big Volfogg is protected by Mirror Ryuushi, this is not a kind of suicidal attack. Solitary wave Riser: At first, U.S. scientists designed to use GS Ride as a sound wave oscillator for a mere sound-wave weapon. But such attempt produced the great, though dangerous, fruit. That is the Solitary wave Riser, which produce not only the sonic-waves but also the energy soliton. Such energy has naturally great destructive potencial. If its frequency is tuned up with target's natural frequency, Solitary wave Riser can destroy only the target, and no other harm is made at all. Solitary wave Riser is used especially for destroying Zonder Metals at once. Disk M: By using this Disk, Mic can temporarily stop enemy robot's movement. Disk P: By using this Disk, Mic can boost-up GS-Ride's output. Disk X: By using this Disk, Mic can produces solitaly wave. (i.e., Mic cannot produce the solitary wave without this Disk.) Mirror Ryuushi Hou: In English, "Mirror Particle Cannon". Using Mirror Catapult as weapon, Mirror Ryuushi Hou fires Mirror Ryuushi itself, instead of a object. FF Mirror: FF stands for "Free Float", so its formal name is the Free Float Mirrors. As its name suggests, every FF Mirrors can be moved freely in space. Susanoh carrys hundreds of FF Mirror and, in combat, launch them. FF Mirrors are used to reflect the beam from Susanoh. Also see Reflector Beam. Reflector Beam: Susanoh has one highly-powered beam cannon on its deck. That has no turret and fires only to upward. But, by using in conjunction with the FF Mirrors, Susanoh can change beam's aim freely. And since each FF Mirror can control its attitude independently, beam's trajectory can be very complex and thus make target's avoidance difficult. One disadvantage is that the Reflector Beam can use only in space. J-Quath: King J-Der's final blow. This large V-(or W-)shaped object is usually mounted on J-Ark's bow or King J-Der's right arm. Once launched, J-Quath become a large firebird, then force into Genshu's body and get its Core out. ES missile: ES missiles can avoid obstacles en route to designated target, by using ES Window. Also see ES Window. ES Bakurai: In English, "ES mine(s)". It can make ES Window at any designated point. Also see ES Window. Maser Hou: In English, "Maser Cannon". King J-Der's all fingertips are made of Maser Cannon's barrels, and can fire Maser beam. Han-Chuukanshi Hou: In English, "Anti-Meson Cannon". J-Ark's turrets can fire Anti-Meson beam which causes target's disintegration. Plasma Sword: J-Der can spout plasma from his both forearms and use them as his sword. Plasma Wing: When J-Der wants to move fast, or to fly, 8 wings of plasma are sprouted from his back. 8.5) Civilians & non GGG personnel Yan Lonlie (????): male,??,#35: He is the chinese scientist and military. He designed Furyu and Rairyu based upon the information from GGG. He thinks it is more efficient to design his robots as a pure war-machine-with-intelligence than the humanized Hyoryu and Enryu. In later episode, he realizes how important humanity is for Super A.I. Isogai Sakura: female,??,#1: She is Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's employee and be in a secretary of Sousai who is Taiga Koutarou. She don't know about GGG at all. Apparently, she has a love for Taiga. Hatsuno Hana: female,10,#1: Mamoru's childfood friend and girlfriend (from age 3?). She meets Zonder awful lot. :-D She keeps her goodwill to Mamoru even after knowing the fact that Mamoru is not an Earth human (in episode 44). Ayame: female,16,#2: She is a cousin of Hana. She have vast knowledge about pro-wrestling, motorcycle, military, and so on. (The reason about her direction of hobby is expained in the Drama CD #3.) Note that her family name is not known, though some source says her family name is also Hatsuno. Komori Reiko: female,10,#1: One of Mamoru's classmates. She seems to like to cavil about Takayasu's bragging, though she has no ill will to him. She calls herself a daughter of a rich, like Takayasu. But that is not true now, since her father's company was gone bankrupt and her father was dead some years ago. (NOTE: This fact is shown only in the Drama CD #3. You don't need to know this fact at all, though if you know, you may sympathize with some of her behavior like in episode 26.) Tezato Tamayo: female,10,#1: One of Mamoru's classmates and Reiko's surroundings. Suzuki Wakaba: female,10,#1: One of Mamoru's classmates and Reiko's surroundings. Ushiyama Sueo: male,10,#1: One of Mamoru's classmates. At a first glance, he seems to be a bully in the class, but in fact he is a kind and active boy. His future dream is to be a member of GGG, like his dear brother. Sunou Takayasu: male,10,#1: One of Mamoru's classmates. He is a son of a rich family and always try to show off his wealth (by showing his expencive camera, multifanctional pager, and so on). Though his attempt is always beated down by Reiko's cavil. Aside from that, he is a good fellow by nature, and a bit coward. Amami Ai: female,30,#1: Mamoru's foster mother who is a tender and ladylike woman. She is a full-time housewife. She cherishes Mamoru so much, but also fears that someday "that North-Pole lion"(= Galeon) bring Mamoru back. Amami Isamu: male,35,#1: Mamoru's foster father who is a sweet- tempered gentleman. He works for Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan. He cherishes Mamoru so much as his dear-little-son and, on the other hand, he treats Mamoru with respect as a respectful person. Latio: -,-,#37(?): Mamoru's true name. He was born in the planet only known as "Midori no Hoshi". Also see Amami Mamoru, and Cain. Cain: male,-,#37: Mamoru/Latio's true father. When Zonder started invading, he found his baby Latio's inborn anti-Zonder ability. He "copy"ed it to G Stones and created Galeon to battle with Zonder. But it was too late, so he dispatched Galeon carrying G Stones, informations, and his last hope Latio, to the galaxy. Galeon eventually arrived to Earth, forestalling Zonder. Note that name of Latio's true mother was not shown at all, but her figure was shown (first) in episode 37 and (clearly) in episode 46. Kaidou Ikumi: male,10(?).#4: One of Mamoru's classmates. In fact, he is a supernatural-power-enhanced clone of Latio, created by a person (or persons or race) who only known as Abel, to fight against 31 Genshu. He is the last survivor of Arma Corps and was carried to Earth by the last J-Ark. At Earth, he was picked up by a wonan whose family name is Kaidou and, since then, lives with her as her child. Unlike Mamoru, he know somewhat of his origin and fate, so he tend not to make friends and be unfriendly. But, actually, he is kind to his foster mother, friends, and Earth. Though his first appearance is occured in episode 4, he did not speak even a word until episode 31. When he use his special ability, his entire body are illuminated by red light, 6 wings made of light are sprouted on his back, J-shaped angel's ring is appeared above his head, and his hind hair is stood up. When that status, he can also fly. (Note that he can always use his telekinesis, not neccessarily becoming the status shown abobe.) When he does JyouKai, he chants a spell which is derived from some Latin word. His chant can be heard as "Tenpelumu! Munduusu, Infini, Tuumu, lediile!". Arma: Kaidou Ikumi's true name. He was born (more exactly, manufactured) in the planet only known as "Aka no Hoshi". Also see Kaidou Ikumi, and Abel. Abel: ?,?,#31: A person (or persons or race) who made Arma, Soldato J, Tomoro, J-Ark, and J Jewel. His (or her/their) information are very limited thus nearly unknown. When Zonder started to invade and Cain found anti-Zonder ability, Abel cloned Cain's son to make 31 anti- Zonder biological-war-machines named Arma, and created J Jewels which was based upon G Stone. Abel also created fighter-and-guard cyborgs named Soldato J, and superdreadnought star-battleship J-Ark. Arma, Soldato J, and J-Ark were all created in number 31 each, to mach with 31 Genshu. In fierce battle with 31 Genshu, 30 Arma, 30 Soldato J, and 30 J-Ark were lost. Tomoro 0117, one of J-Ark's computer, was altered to Zonderian named Pinchernone, and Soldato J #002 was altered to Zonderian named Pizza. Last J-Ark, carrying last Arma, managed to escape to Earth without Tomoro. Soldato J: male,?,#31: "The Strongest Soldier in the Ternary-Solar System". He is the last survivor of Soldato Army and his formal name is "Soldato J, ID No.002". Since his homeworld was already lost, his only meaning of life is to destroy KiKai 31 Genshu. Also see Abel. Tomoro 0117: N/A(male voice),N/A,#31: Tomoro is a biological computer which is created for managing J-Ark. Tomoro 0117 and now-his- commanding J-Ark are the last survivor of J-Ark Fleet. Also see Abel. Shishioh Kizuna: female,50(if live),#46: Guy's mother and an astronaut. She and all her buddy have been perished by an accident while the first manned expedition to the planet Jupiter at 7 years ago. But her soul (or such) was survived due to mysterious effect of "The Power". Since then, she tried to contact with Earth. But all she can do is to send one of her three emotion (as a young girl's figure) to her son Guy's mechanical eyes. Furthermore, she can do that only when Guy is in space. Her last voyage is mentioned partly in the Drama CD #2. Three Misterious Sisters: female,N/A,#33,38,42: Three misterious ghost- like girls who are seen only by Guy and only when he is in space. They tend to appear and disppear suddenly. Each one's expression are fixed and never changed. Also see MesoMeso, MukaMuka, NikoNiko, and Shishioh Kizuna. MesoMeso: female,N/A,#42: One of Three Misterious Sisters. In English, "be whimpering". She looks like weeping. When she is appeared, something wrong to Guy would be happen. Also see Three Misterious Sisters. MukaMuka: female,N/A,#38: One of Three Misterious Sisters. In English, "be in a fume". She looks like to be angered. She appears when Guy get discouraged. Also see Three Misterious Sisters. NikoNiko: female,N/A,#33: One of Three Misterious Sisters. In English, "be smiling". She is always smiling. When something good is happened to Guy, she may be appeared. Also see Three Misterious Sisters. Yupitos: N/A(male voice),N/A,Drama CD #2(only): Originally, Yupitos is the controll computer for the space-explorer Jupilos 5. After the accident at the planet Jupiter, Yupitos got the "mind" (i.e., ego) by "The Power". Gaining the mind, he realized he's alone at the Jupiter and his mind was filled with "loneliness". So he desided to return Earth. Inugami Kirio: male,27(contemporary),Drama CD #2(only): He was the Japanese government's intelligence agent who worked hard when GGG was established. He was killed by an double agent before GGG's establishment was finished, at November 2, 2004. Based upon his personality, GGG intelligence dept made Volfogg's Super A.I. You do not need to know this information at all. Though I suspect that Kirio was the friend with Entouzi Kousuke, since Kousuke's depression is so deep after Volfogg made a suicidal attack and lost contact (in episode 28). Toba Misao: female,26(contemporary),Drama CD #2(only): She is the Inugami's colleague (and maybe his lover). She's the double agent who killed Inugami at '2004. Her whereabout is not known. Takanohashi Ryousuke: male,?(aged),DramaCD #3(only): He is the supervisor of the Goten'yama Science Center. He is entrusted by GGG with analyzing the mysterious metal-plate which was recoverd from the Moon. Kah-suke: ????,????,DramaCD #4(only): Kah-suke is the super- intelligent jungle-crow, and the member of the ID5 as the Black Crow. Entouzi Kouichi: male,????,DramaCD #4(only): He is the father of Entouzi Kousuke, and the member of the ID5 as the Blue Monkey. Kuga Momoko: female,????,DramaCD #4(only): She is the expert in explosives, and the member of the ID5 as the Pink Cougar. Professor Mozuma: male,?(aged),DramaCD #4(only): He is the leader of the BioNet, the international crime syndicate. 8.6) Zonder Zonder: A general term for an Extraterrestrial invaders and its minion. A person who inflicted by a Zonder Metal become a Zonder. A Zonder- ized person lose one's consciousness and humanity, and some passion which is carrying by that person (such as anger, sadness, desire, and so on) is warped and significantly amplified. Zonder tends to work filfulling such passion. Sometimes Zonder is "instructed" (commanded) by KiKai Shitennou. Zonder can merge and traverse other materials (other than lifeform). Zonder Robo: A Zonder-ized person merges with matters (other than lifeform, mostly machines), then 'grow' to a huge Zonder Robo. A Zonder-ized person become such robot's Core in robot's body. Zonder Robo has a self-shielding ability and, if damaged, can repair itself quickly. These characteristics make Zonder Robo impossible to defeat by conventional weaponry. To completely destroy Zonder Robo, its Core must be extracted from its body. A Core-extracted Zonder Robo goes self-destruction, causing fierce blast. Zonder Core: When Zonder grows to Zonder Robo, Zonder itself become a huge ball-like Zonder Core which is brain and heart (thus weakpoint) of that Zonder Robo. If extracted from Zonder Robo's body, Zonder Core can't move for a while. But, if left undone too long period, Zonder Core will transforms to human-like shape and get freedom of movement. If this happen, that Zonder might escape to somewhere and start growing again. This is why Mamoru, who has JyouKai ability, must attend at every combat. Zonder Houshi: Houshi means in English "Spore". A spore which has high density of Soryuushi Z0 in it. After fully grown and fully satisfied, a Zonder then begen to breed many, many Zonder Houshi. Once breed them up, all Zonder Houshi will be launch to the world, derivering tremendous amount of Soryuushi Z0 by world-wide scale, resulting in catastrophic KiKai Shouka. KiKai Shitennou: In English, The Big Four Generals of Machinized World. Also known as Zonderian. See Zonderian. Zonderian: Stands for four aliens who serve to Pazder and act as his General. a.k.a. KiKai Shitennou. They have a power of Zonder but retains their own consciousness. They can transform to Earth human shape. In fact, they had been remnants of some civilization which collapsed by Zonder. It seems that they were chosen by their superior ability, transformed to Zonderian and brain-washed to serve Pazder. Zonderians are very sensitive to G Stones and G power. Pizza: One of KiKai Shitennou. In human form, he looks like a slim, affected youngman. He is very proud of being soldier, though he may take a dirty means. Pizza see Guy as his rival. He is very agile and has a flight ability. He like sky, thus his operation tends to be sky-related. His true identity is Soldato J #002 (shown in episode 34). Pinchernone: One of KiKai Shitennou. His speech is very artificial and like a machine. In human form, he looks like a grotesque sailor and almost always sit on something. His operation tends to be sea- and ship-related. His true identity is Tomoro 0117, which is J-Ark's main computer (shown in episode 34). Primarda: One of KiKai Shitennou. She almost always dance around. In human form, she is a beautiful woman, and sometimes introduce herself as "Dancer of Love" (in episode 5). Her operation tends to be motorcycle- and/or motorcar-related. Her true identity is not known, though she is wife of Polonaise (shown in episode 28). Polonaise: One of KiKai Shitennou. In human form, he looks like a whiskered, mild conductor who always has a large tobacco pipe. His operation tends to be train-related. His true identity is not known, though he is husband of Primarda (shown in episode 28). Pazder: a.k.a. EI-01. Pazder is the leader of Zonderian and its Earth invasion. Two years ago, en route to Earth, Pazder was shot down by Galeon and crashed down to Tokyo, Japan. Then it took refuge under Tokyo Tower. This is the reason why all initial battles are taken place in Japan. Pazder's true identity is a part of Heart Genshu. Pagliaccio: As her name suggests, she looks like a (very under-clothed) pierrot. Her attitude and facial expression is rarely changed (almost fixed) and her speech is very artificial, as if she is a doll. She is always poised in space, standing atop a ball. When she moves, her entire bodies are extracted into that ball(!). After Pazder's loss, she appears as a replace, engulfing Pazder's core and acting as the commander and observer of Genshu. Her true identity is a part of Heart Genshu. Note that GGG seems not notice her existence at all. Genshu: An abbreviated word for KiKai 31 Genshu, and/or shows one of KiKai 31 Genshu. See KiKai 31 Genshu. KiKai 31 Genshu: In English, The 31 Primeval Species of Machinized World. A Japanese word "Genshu" means in English "Primeval Species". These entities are the origin of all Zonder. Each Genshu represents one of 31 body parts (shown later in this text). Originally they were a master-program created by, and support to dissipate stresses of, (unknown to Earth, possiblly Purple Planet's) humans. But somewhat was happened (intentionally or unintentionally), then that program became 31 Genshu. Genshu want to 'evolve' all lifeforms to Zonder. They are invading around the universe and have done KiKai Shouka (at least) at Murasaki no Hoshi, Midori no Hoshi, and Aka no Hoshi. KiKai Saikyou 7 Genshu: In English, The 7 Strongest Primeval Species of Machinized World. They are the strongest Genshu and consist from ZX-07 to ZX-13. It seems that ZX-07 (the Arm) is their leader. Z Master: Combining all Genshu to one gigantic humans-haped (female- looking) entity, this is the true identity of the KiKai 31 Genshu, and explain why each Genshu are represented by body parts. By becoming Z Master, the pace of KiKai Shouka can be much accelerated. KiKai Shinshu: in English, the New Species of Machinized World. See Zonuda. Zonuda: 2 years ago, when Pazder momently met with Mikoto, EI-01 planted a 'seed' into her brain. That seed biologically mimicked her central nervous system (it should be included her brain) and, after that, acts as nothing was happen to her, growing in secret. When that seed is fully grown, some months after Z Master is destroyed, Mikoto's body and consciousness is taken over by and transformed to Zonuda, the New Species of Machinized World. It may be said Zonuda is an evoluted Zonder who eventually get the tolerance against the G power and has terrible Bussitsu Shouka ability. Zonuda Robo: Same as Zonder Robo, though its power is far more stronger than Zonder Robo. Since its Core is Zonuda, Zonuda Robo also is immune against G power and can perform Bussitsu Shouka. 8.7) Terms & Items Yuusha: As I mentioned before, this Japanese word can be translated in an English word "The Brave". Since GaGaGa is one of the Yuusha series, it seems to be particular about being Yuusha. According to the usage in the show, the word Yuusha can be translated in "The Hero/ Heroine", too. KiKai (of KiKai Shitennou, etc): This is not a usual Japanese word Kikai (= Machine) but a coined word combined two word Ki and Kai together. In this case, Japanese word Ki stands for Machine or Device, Kai stands for World or Region, thus KiKai means such like "Machinized World" or "Machine-World". Since there is no official Engish translation about the word KiKai, I decided to use "Machinized World" as the translation. (NOTE: Later, I found that the show seems to use the word Zonder as the trasnlation of KiKai. But I think it's better to disjoin the word Zonder with KiKai for avoiding further confusion. So I decide to continue using the word "Machinized World" for the translation of KiKai.) Ultimate Armor (?): This is Guy's combat armor suit. During operation, Guy is equipped with this armor. Gao Brace (and his only weapon Will Knife) is a part of this armor. If get off, Guy can wear normal clothes. Equip: Once combat takes place, Guy yells a keyword "Equip!". On doing so, his helmet Horn Crown is appeared and his all ability are upped by 30%. After Equip-ped, Guy is ready for combat. (Note that from where Horn Crown appear is not known, though it should be somewhere head.) Horn Crown: This helmet looks like a horned crown, which suggest its name. Hyper Mode: Guy can temporarily boost his ability by switching on Hyper Mode. During in Hyper Mode, all his ability are upped by more 15% (than in Equip mode) and his entire body are illuminated by golden light. Since fuels are quickly exhausted in Hyper Mode, it lasts only 3 minutes. Gao Brace: Guy's bracelet which store Will Knife can emit Projection Beam. It also act as protection for his G Stone, Projection Beam: 1) A camouflage beam which Volfogg uses. 2) A special beam which is emitted from Guy's Gao Brace (more exactly his G Stone) and can be sensed by Galeon. Guy uses Projection Beam to summon Galeon. GGG PokeBell: "PokeBell" is an abbreviation of a Japanese coined word "Pocket Bell", in English "Beeper" or "Pager". So it can be reworded for English readers as "GGG Beeper". It is a small, GGG-logo-shaped two-way beeper which all GGG personnel must carry, and always emit ultrahigh frequency to make carrier's position clear. It is also used as a part of GGG personnel's ID certification. G Liquid: A special liquid which circulates in Yuusha robots's body. Its purpose is to carry a power which GS Ride generate. It may be said that G liquid is the blood of Yuusha Robots. Whether G liquids are generated by GS Ride or supplied from outside of body is not known. (If later is correct, I suspect Robo Juice may be such a supply.) G Fiber: A special fiber which is stretched around Yuusha robots' body, making networks of Super-A.I. and each body-parts. It may be said that G Fiber is the nerve fiber of Yuusha Robots. J Fiber; Same as G fiber, though J fiber is for J-Ark/(King) J-Der. G-Stone: A green colored, crystal-like material which has a sign like a decorated letter "G" on its surface. Leo desribed G Stone as "Infinite Information Circuit". G Stone is used as Guy's life-support system and as a core unit of GS Ride. In fact, G-Stone is reproduced from (and based upon) Latio's special ability. Note that G-Stone is an antimatter to Z-Metal. J-Jewel: A red colored, crystal-like material which has a sign like a decorated letter "J" on its surface. J-Jewel is reproduced from (and based upon) G Stone, made by Abel. So J Jewel might be an antimatter to Z-Metal. Z-Metal: a.k.a. Zonder Metal. See Zonder Metal. Zonder Metal: A purple colored bio-mechanic device which has a sign like a decorated letter "Z" on its surface. If Zonder Metal comes into contact with human, it translates him or her to a Zonder. Zonder Metal's original usage is to remove user's stress. Zonder Metal is an anti-matter to G-Stone and J-Jewel. Zonder Metal Plant: To be exact, this is the Zonder Metal breeding Plant. Since Zonder Metals are not infinite resources, Zonderians need to mass-produce Zonder Metal on Earth (or they must wait for Zonder until it is fully grown-up enough to generate Zonder Houshi). To make Zonder Metal, Plant needs enormous amount of energy supply. Zonders try to supply such a high demand with the particle accelerator Isolde (in episode 11), the Ground Nova (in episode 18-19), cooperation of Primarda and Polonaise (in episode 27-28), and the Orbit Base's reactor (in episode 39-40). Zonders tend to bind caputered humans to Plant, so that newly-made Zonder Metals can be used quickly. During the last project of Zonderians, they made entire Tokyo city to Zonder Metal Plant, trapping over-10,000,000 civilians in Plant as unwilling would-be Zonders. Note that Genshu seem to be able to make Zonder Metals in their body, still they want to build the Plant. G power: A mysterious power which G Stones radiate and Mamoru can produce. All Zonder, Zonderian, and Genshu are equally very sensitive to G power. Soryuushi Z0: This means in English "Elementary Particle Z0". Note that "Z0" is "Z Zero", not "Z Oh". This fictional elementary particle is not Earth origin and is radiated from Zonder and Zonder Metal. If density of Soryuushi Z0 become high enough, all lifeforms may become Zonder. Since Soryuushi Z0 does not exist on Earth originally, GGG manage to make device which can sense and track Soryuushi Z0. Note that Zonderian and Genshu seems not radiating Soryuushi Z0. ES Window: the word 'ES' means 'EScape' and thus is 'Escape Window'. ES Window acts as the gateway to/from a parallel-space. It's very likely a kind of Worm Hole. Mirror Coating: To coat with Mirror Ryuushi. Also see Mirror Ryuushi. Mirror Ryuushi: Ryuushi is a Japanese word which can translate in English "Particle". So "Mirror Ryuushi" is "Mirror Particle(s)" in English. Mirror Ryuushi is a fictitious particle which can temporarily reflect physical and electro-magnetic energy. Big Bolfogg especially uses Mirror Ryuushi as his attacking and defending aid. Mirror Catapult: A catapult which uses Mirror Ryuushi's characteristic to deliver Yuusha robots and their tools. Mirror Catapult consists from long and large tube which has one opening at its edge. Robot (or tool) is positioned at closed edge of tube, and is coated with Mirror Ryuushi. Then entire tube is filled with magnetic force (by the super-conducting magnets). Since Mirror Ryuushi reflects such forces, Mirror-coated object floats in the tube. By controlling force field in the tube, Mirror-coated object is accelarated toward the tube's opening, then fired from the tube's opening at a designated point. Ul-Tech: Stands for "ultra-high technology"(?). There is no apparent explanation, though it seems that is a technology which uses G Stone (or GS Ride) more effectively as a power supply. Leo invented the Ul- Tech engine and mounted its prototype on 3-shiki Kuuchuu Kenkyuujyo and Hexagon. In later episode, all Yuusha Robots and GGG vehicles also have the Ul-Tech engine (in episode 34). Ao no Hoshi: In English, "Blue Planet". Stands for the planet Earth. Midori no Hoshi: In English, "Green Planet". A planet where Latio was born, Galeon and G Stones were constructed. KiKai Shouka-ed (almost same as "destroyed") by Zonder. Aka no Hoshi: In English, "Red Planet". A planet where Arma and Soldato J were born (or, exactly, made). KiKai Shouka-ed by Zonder. Murasaki no Hoshi: In English, "Purple Planet". A planet where the KiKai 31 Genshu were created. Probably KiKai Shouka-ed by Zonder. GGG: Stands for "Gutsy Geoid Guard"(#1-#32) and/or "Gutsy Galaxy Guard"(#32-). Pronouced as "three G". Based upon Galeon-brought warning about Zonder's invasion, the Japanese Government organized an anti-Zonder defence forces in secret and in haste. That is GGG, the Gutsy Geoid Guard. At the same time, the United Nations start to discuss creating a world-wide scale defence forces. The U.N. finally (in the episode 32) approve such defence forces. The Gutsy Geoid Guard are disbanded, then all Gutsy Geoid Guard's personnels and Yuusha robots are transferred to that new organization named Gutsy Galaxy Guard. The Gutsy Galaxy Guard's existence (and Zonder's threat) is offcially known to the world's public at this point. Note that the name "Gutsy Geoid/Galaxy Guard" is the official one (which is pronounced and shown clearly in the episode 1, 32, and other), so I do not make this up. Kidou Butai: In English, the Mechanized Unit (or Mobile Force?). Consists from all Yuusha Robots (except for Bolfogg who belongs to the intelligence dept). Guy is its commander. Robo Juice: This is the drink for Yuusha robots. You can see sometimes Piggy distribute it to Yuusha robots. What Robo Juice is not known at all. Some thinks that is a fuel for Yuusha robots, other says that might be the G Liquid. GS Ride: GS Ride converts the reactor(or such)-generated energy into the one which can be used by Yuusha robots, putting it into the G Liquid (or generating G Liquid itself). GS Rides are used to all Yuusha robots, Gao machines, and Gutsy Galaxy Guard's vehicles. Since Zonders are senitive to G power which G Stone radiates, they can not merge with the GGG machines equipped with GS Ride. Note that Guy has a G Stone but don't has a GS Ride. System Change: To transfrom. A keyword almost all Yuusha robots yells when they transform. Sympa-Rate: Sympa-Rate is the measurement of Hyoryu and Enryu (Furyu and Rairyu)'s degree of "sympathies" with each other. If Sympa-Rate become 100, they can dock and become Choryujin (Gekiryujin). Symmetrical Docking: Hyoryu, Enryu, Furyu, and Rairyu yell this keyword when they docks with. When they docks, Hyoryu (and Furyu) become right side of body, and Enryu (and Rairyu) become left side of body. Symmetrical Out: To transform back from Choryujin/Gekiryujin to Hyuryu and Enryu/Furyu and Rairyu. They can disconnect themselves freely, unlike GaoGaiGar. Sanmi Ittai: Bolfogg yells this keyword when he transforms to Big Bolfogg. This is Japanese word which can be translated in English "Three Bodies in One". Jupilos 5: As its name suggest, Jupilos 5 is the 5th attempt to explore the planet Jupiter. And that is the first attempt to send human to Jupiter. Jupiter X: Mysterious substance which were brought back from the planet Jupiter by the unmanned space-probe named Jupilos 1 at 1994. Scientists could not define what Jupiter X are, though it was clear that has supernormal energy potential. Jupiter X were stolen by the crime-syndicate BioNet and, by the covert action of I.D.5, it were eventually exploded. In fact, Jupiter X 's true identity is The Power. Also see The Power. Power, The: At the planet Jupiter, there are mysterious Power source which can make one's wish came true, though that is very unstable and may destroy its user. No one can controll it completely. That is called as "The Power". Cain describes it may be a one of mysterious forces around the universe. Arma calls The Power as "Horobi no Chikara" (in English, "Doom's Power"). Chou-Zigen Pod: In English, "Super-Dimention Pod". Appeared in eipsode 17. Chou-Zigen Pod is a closed, nutshell-like space which is generated by remnants of destroyed Zonder Robo. No one can enter into (and exit from) this space by usual means. Since it is not a physical force, Eraser Head does no mean. In that episode, GaoGaiGar was booby-trapped inside Chou-Zigen Pod when Dividing Driver's effect was fading away. If something, in this case the Chou-Zigen Pod trapping GaoGaiGar inside, was left in the battlefield when "divided" space are undone, it may cause a catastrophic disaster. Ground Nova: Appeared in episode 18. Harnessing the Hell and Heaven's tremendous power as an ignition, Zonder make a kind of fusion reactor on the ground. It is named by GGG since it seems like a nova appeared on the ground. Zonder uses the power generated by the Ground Nova for making Zonder Metal Plant. Contra-Fall: In episode 27, Polonaise and Primarda cooperated making entire Tokyo (and its citizen) to the Zonder Metal Plant. To prevent GGG's counter-attack, They wrapped entire Tokyo in a 4 layer barrier which is named the Contra-Fall after its characteristics by GGG. At the edge of Contra-Fall, there are very strong updraft which can easily blow army's tanks away, as if tanks are falling to the sky. The description of each layer and how GGG break through them are listed below. 1st layer: the super-electromagnetic barrier which appeared in episode 11. -> dissipated by Eraser Head. 2nd layer: the condensed pure oxygen which appeared in episode 22. -> warped aside by Dividing Driver. 3rd layer: the Chou-Zigen Pod which appeared in episode 17. -> twisted space itself off by Dimension Plyer. 4th layer: the Ground Nova which appeared in episode 18-19. -> converted into particles of light by Goldion Hammer Galeorea Comet: A fictional comet which appeared when Guy first met with Mikoto, and become an astronaut (both in CD Drama #1), and before Mikoto changes to Zonuda (in episode 48). Taking account of the fact that Galeorea Comet's appearance almost always anticipate the important events and its name strongly suggests the name "Galeon", it should be the important factor of overall story. (By the way, a newly- found comet is usually named after its finder's name, so I think there may be Mr./Ms. Galeorea in the background.) KiKai Shouka: A Japanese word Shouka stands for "Sublimation", thus KiKai Shouka means such like "Machinized World Sublimation" or "Sublimate to Machinized World". What KiKai Shouka do is to change all lifeforms (human and other) to Zonder, using Zonder Metals and Soryuushi Z0 by the planet-wide scale. Bussitsu Shouka: Such like "Matter Sublimation". To change all matter (include liforms) to another matter. No Zonder Metal is needed, since Zonuda herself can perform Bussitsu Shouka. What happen to that 'changed' matter is less known. Shounin: A Japanese word which can translates English as an Approval. To perform Final Fusion, and to use Goldion Hammer, Guy needs a GGG Governor's Approval. Program Drive: After the Governor approved to do Final Fusion, Mikoto yells this keyword and smashing up a plastic(?)-plate-covered button by her right fist. Once pushed that button, programs need to do Final Fusion load into Gao Machines and GaiGar. Choukan's call "Final Fusion, Shounin!" and her "Program Drive!" are the one of GaGaGa's highlight. :D Safety-Device Relieve: After the Governor approved to use Goldion Hammer, Mikoto yells this keyword and use her Gold Card in the console. It is not known why the word "Relieve", not Release, is used. The word Relieve is shown on her console clearly, so she does not fail to pronounce. Fusion: To dock Guy with Galeon, and to dock Soldato-J with J Bard. Final Fusion: To dock all Gao Machines with GaiGar, becoming GaoGaiGar. Fusion Out: To disconnect Gao Machines, Galeon, and Guy. Since GaoGaiGar can not disconnect by himself, GGG have facilities especially doing so. You can see this procedure in episode 2. Note that Guy can come out from GaoGaiGar's breast (at Galeon's mouth). Denzi Tatsumaki: In English, "Electro-Magnetic Tornado". As the first step performing Final Fusion, GaiGar emits Dengi Tatsumaki around. This artificial storm can ward off enemy's counterattacks during Final Fusion. This warding is not perfect, though, some enemies could penetrate Dengi Tatsumaki at several times. Chou-Denzi Tatsumaki: In English, "Super Electro-Magnetic Tornado". When GaoGaiGar performs Hell and Heaven, he emits Chou-Dengi Tatsumaki from his standing to targeted enemy, creating the tunnel of storm. This tunnel immobilizes enemy's movement. Mega Fusion: To dock J-Dar with J Carrier, becoming King J-Dar. Sanjyuuren Taiyoukei: In English, the Ternary-Solar System. This is where (at least) Aka no Hoshi is located. It seems Midori no Hoshi and Murasaki no Hoshi are also located here (uncertain, though). Super A.I.: The Artificial Intelligence which has a ego and a self- learning capability. A robot which has Super A.I. shows very human- like attitudes such as anger, laugh, and even disobey a order which they judged it unreasonable. EI: Stands for "Extra Intelligence" and pronounces as "E. I". For English readers, it may be accepted as "Extraterrestrial Intelligence". GGG labeled all Zonder as its appeared order, like EI-01, EI-02, EI-03, ... and so on. Note that EI-01 is Pazder. ZX: Stands for "Zonder Exceptional" and pronounces as "Zekkusu". GGG labeled all Genshu as its appeared order, from ZX-01 to ZX-31. Zonder: A term used to point 1) enemy itself, 2) a person who inflicted by a Zonder Metal. Also, the word Zonder seems to be used for the translation fo the word "KiKai" (also see KiKai). JyouKai: A Japanese coined word which combined two words Jyou ("Cleanse") and Kai ("Dissolve"). JyouKai is the only way to recover a Zonder-ized person to a normal human. Only Mamoru has such mysterious JyouKai ability. Though in later episode (#32), it emerges that Kaidou Ikumi also has a JyouKai ability. Pendant: Guy always carry a pendant which was presented from Mikoto when he became an astronaut. Mamoru has a pendant which was made of the special G Stone but that is not shown until episode 36. Ikumi has a pendant which was made of the special J Jewel. Swan has a pendant which seems to store her family's picture. Z Sensor: The device which can sense Soryuushi Z0, made by GGG intelligence dept. Volfogg has an on-board Z Sensor. ID5: Stands for "Indemitable(?) Defender 5". They were the secret law- and-peace enforcement of Japan, a la Sentai heroes. Its lineup were; Taiga Koutarou as the leader Gold Tiger, Hyuuma Geki as the Silver Puma, Kah-suke the Jungle-Crow as the Black Crow, Entouzi Kouichi (who is the father of Entouzi Kousuke) as the Blue Monkey, and Kuga Momoko as the Pink Cougar. During their last operation, only Taiga and Hyuuma were survived and rest 3 members were either dead (Black Crow and Blue Monkey) or lost (Pink Cougar). Note that the I.D. 5 informations are shown only in the Drama CD #4 and has no direct connection with the show itself, so you may not need to know these information at all. Though if you know those, you can understand the point of the scene where Taiga, Hyuuma, and Entouzi drink together with a memorial tablet in the episode 45. Cain no Isan: In English, "Legacy of Cain". Zonderians and Genshu call Galeon so. Abel no Nokoseshi Wazawai: In English, "Woe which Abel left". Genshu call J-Ark so. Gagagatchi: The (fictional, ofcource) popular kids' Anime shown in episode 44. Gagagatchi is the title of its show, and name of the leading character. Other characters of the show are King Snow who is the Gagagatchi's rival and Galepon who is the Gagagatchi's friend-and- attendant. S.M.W.: The fictional pro-wrestling organization which is the Ayame's favorite one. Ryuuguu 9000: The fictional deep submergence vehicle shown in episode 10. As its name suggests, its diving ability is about 9,000 meters (29,528 feet). The Japanese word "Ryuuguu" means the legendary dragon- god's palace located at depth of the sea. Clear Headband: This is the (fictional) transparent headband which is used by Mikoto to make her unique hairstyle. It can bind hairs by a static electricity. The Clear Headband is one of the Leo's inventions which became manufactured. At first, she did not know that fact (she kept her hairstyle even before meeting with Guy). Note that the information about Clear Headband is mentioned only in the Drama CD #1. 8.8) GaGaGa places Below are structures and/or places shown in GaGaGa. Note that these are all fictional, unless I specially mention otherwise. Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan: The official(?) English translation is "the Public Corporation of Space Development". Taiga Koutarou, who is GGG's Choukan (in English, "Governer") also holds the post of Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's Sousai (in English, also "Governer"). GGG Barrier Reef: See G-Island City. G-Island City: A sea city on Tokyo Bay. Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's administrative building called "Bay Tower" is located at center of this city, and many citizen are its employee. Gutsy Geoid Guard's base is located under the Bay Tower, at the bottom of the sea called GGG Barrier Reef. It seems that "G" of "G-Island City" may stands for GGG, but that might be not true, since the Gutsy Geoid Guard's existence is very secret to public! Bay Tower Kichi: Kichi means in English "Base". This is the name of Gutsy Geoid Guard's underwater base. All Gutsy Geoid Guard personnel (include Choukan) are disguised as Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's personnel to the public. GGG personnel can access between Bay Tower and Bay Tower Kichi by secret elevators. Choukan uses a special private elevator connected direct from Sousai's office to GGG headquaters. Orbit Base: This is the space-station base of Gutsy Galaxy Guard in orbit around Earth. The U.N. constructed this base, disgusing as a international space-station constructing project "Island 2". Gomi no Shima: In English, "Trash Island". This fictitious place is where Mamoru and classmates made a field trip to, and EI-02 appeared for the first time, in episode 1. This place seemed to be modeled after "Yume no Shima" where is actually exist. To dispose of tremendous daily trash generated by Tokyo city and other, goverments impoldered some part of Tokyo Bay and made artificial islands named "Yume no Shima" (in English, "Dream Island"). Since then, many trash are sent to there and piled up everyday. Recently, shortage of place to pile (due to tremendeous amount of trash which Tokyo generates) comes into question. In episode 1, a teacher says "by seeing these trash, let's think how we should do in daily life, and how we should use limited resources". This IS a real problem. Tokyo Tochou: In English, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office. This place, where the episode 1 and 49 are taken place, is actually exist. I can remember once publics raised the question why so feudal office was needed, though that question was ignored by the Tokyo government. Now I feel public seems forget it, too. Tokyo Tower: This place, where Mamoru and his classmates are trapped in the episode 27, is actually exist, too. If you like the Sailor Moon series, you might see this tower quite often. Kamome Dai-Ichi Shougakkou: In English, the Kamome First Junior-School. This is the school where Mamoru and Hana belong. The Japanese word Kamome means the English "gull". This school is located in the G- Island City, near the sea. Isolde: The name of this huge particle accelerator (in episode 11) might be derived from Tristan which is the real Japanese particle accelerator . There is a Celtic tale named "Tristan and Isolde", and real-world particle-accelerator's name "Tristan" might be derived from such tale. Some GaGaGa staff might know that. 8.9) Pun in the name Names of GaGaGa's characters often has pun in it. Especially, main GGG personnel's name contain something animal-related word. Below are the explanation of such pun. Shishioh family: Japanese word Shishi means Lion and Oh means King, thus Shishioh can translate to English "Lion-King". Shishioh Guy: Offcial English spelling of his name is Guy, though his name ought to be written as "Gai" by usual Japanese style. Gai is a Japanese pronouciation of English word Guy, and he is a very nice _guy_. ...I think you get the point. :-D Shishioh Leo: This is apparent one. His name really is "Leo". :) ? Shishioh Liger: This is apparent one, too. Shishioh Kizuna: Kizuna means "bonds". This name is not strange one in Japan. In the rylics of opening song "Yuusha-oh tanjyou!" and closing song "Itsuka Hoshi no Umi de", both have the word "Kizuna" in it. It's hard to say whether this is some sort of pun or not, though I must point out that "bonds" is one of the important themes of GaGaGa. Utsugi Mikoto: Her name Mikoto can also be read as Inochi, in English "Life". Inochi is the title of episode 48, which revolves about her. Her family name Utsugi has somewhat similar sound of "Usagi", in English "Rabbit and/or Bunny". And the Kanji "U" (of "Utsugi") also means the Hare of the twelve horary signs. She has distinct Bunny- like hairstyle. :-D Oh, don't you know about Sailor Moon? Entouzi Kousuke: Japanese word "En" can be translated to English "Monkey". In the CD Drama #4, his father was the member of I.D.5, code-named Blue Monkey. Ushiyama Kazuo: Japanese word Ushi means in English "cow". He is a trooping figure. And Japanese Kanji word Kazu (of his name Kazuo) has a meaning of "one/first", and O (of Kazuo) has a meaning of "male", thus his name can be translated in "First-Male". He is a firstborn of Ushiyama brothers. Note that his name is not strange one in the Japanese culture. Ushiyama brothers: As shown at "Ushiyama Kazuo", their names Kazuo, Tuguo, Mituo, and Sueo can be transrated to First-Male, Second-Male, Third-Male, and Last-Male. It is not so unusual naming style in Japan. Taiga Koutarou: Japanese people pronouces Tiger as "Taigaa". In the CD Drama #4, once he was the leader of I.D.5, code-named Gold Tiger. Hyuuma Geki: Japanese people pronouces Puma as "Pyuuma", similar sounding to "Hyuuma". This one is tricky. In the CD Drama #4, he was the member of I.D.5, named Silver Puma. Swan White: This is apparent one. Stallion White: This is apparent one, too. Amami Ai & Isamu: A Japanese Kanji "Isamu" also read as "Yuu", a Japanese pronunciation of English "You". "Ai" is a Japanese pronunciation of English "I". So Amami couple's name has means such like "You & I". Sometimes Isamu worn a T-shirt which has "I love YOU" message. :-D Amami Mamoru: His name Mamoru can be translated to English "Protect". To be exact, this is not a pun, since Amami couple named him so. Why Amami couple named him is that they wish their son to be a man who can "protect" all he loves. Inubouzaki Minoru: The Japanese word "Inu" of Inubouzaki means in English "Dog". In episode 15, he hate Entouzi who has a word "Monkey" in his name. There is a Japanese wording "dog-and-monky" which is equivalent means to English "cat-and-dog". Nozaki Tooru: "Nozaki Tooru" is the name of GaGaGa's Special Conceptor. :-D Hirata Akiko: Apparently her name is derived from Hirata Akihiko who is the famous Japanese actor. He had playacted in many Tokusatsu (= Japanese SciFi) stories as, in many case, a cool and clever scientist. His most famous works are Dr. Serizawa in the first Godzilla (1954, Touhou), and Dr. Iwamoto in the first Ultraman (1966, Touhou). In GaGaGa, after joining GGG, Hirata Akiko start to wear a strange eyeglasses which right eyeglass is light-colored. This is also a pun of Dr. Serizawa who worn a patch on his right eye. Cain & Abel: The name Cain and Abel are apparently derived from the Bible. If you know the Bible, you may know the story about Cain and Abel ("The First Book of Moses, called Genesis, 4"). But GaGaGa's Cain & Abel seems to be both "good-fellow". So it may be said that some GaGaGa staff might borrow only its name from the Bible. Zonuda: When Mikoto become Zonuda (in episode 48), all her clothes seems to be teared apart (not apparent though, progressing in silhouette), and Zonuda's appearance strongly suggest she's _nude_. So, I *think* the formula "Zonder + nude = Zonuder -> Zonuda" may come into existence. :D Broken Magnum/Phantom: Do you know the Manga (= Japanese comic) "Ring ni Kakero" (featuring boxing, written by Kurumada Masami)? In that Manga, some character uses the finish blow named "Galactica Magnum" and, in later episode, he strengthen it and rename to "Galactica Phantom". You see there are same naming pattern. Yamaha Isuzu: This pizza-girl's name Yamaha and Isuzu are both the name of Japanese motorcycle/motorcar makers. Gagagatchi: GaGaGa's title-name was once "Gagagatzii" at the beggining of production. Takanohashi Ryousuke: The name of GaGaGa's producer is Takahashi Ryousuke. :) 9) Zonder Who's Who 9.1) Who became Zonder? A person always have something complaints. It is said (in the episode 41) that Zonder Metals were originally invented to dissipate one's stresses. So, even after Zonders became harmful to people, they seem to retain an ability to dissipate one's stress, though they use it for their own goal. This is why they need lifeforms (especially humans). In this section, I wrote what kind of person is chosen to become Zonder. Note that EI-01,26,27,28, and 29 are not human originally. EI-01: Pazder, whose true identity is a part of Heart Genshu. [Its body is shown in episode 29-30.] EI-02: Kodakarayama Kinzou, who is the former president of some construction company. Once his company has access to the Tokyo Tochou, but due to his illigal bidding, his bussiness were corrapsed. As a last reversal, he betted all his remaining property to a horse race and lost. Since then, he lost all his properties and family. Bearing malice toward the Government, he finally settled in the huge dumpsite "Gomi no Shima". Such his malice is exploited by Zonderians. That is why EI-02 heads to Shinjyuku where the Tokyo Tochou is located. And EI-02's face is pretty similar to the horse once he betted all his properties. [Shown in episode 1] EI-03: Bomber Shinigami, who is a villain pro-wrestler. He thinks himself the mightiest wrestler around the world. His physical might and eagerness for might is exploited by Zonderian Pinchernone. (Note that the word Shinigami is a Japanese one and can be translated in English "the Death".) [Shown in episode 2] EI-04: A young man named Yamanoguchi who despair of the world. He feels envy of mighty-looking locomotives. Such envy is exploited by Zonderian Polonaise. [Shown in episode 3] EI-05: After defeated by GaoGaiGar, the Zonder who is former EI-04 manage to escape. Then, he is instructed to merge with the mightier- looking Space Shuttle by Zonderian Pizza and become EI-05. [Shown in episode 4] EI-06: A trucker who is angered by a dayly traffic jam. His anger to jam is exploited by Zonderian Primarda. [Shown in episode 5] EI-07: An aged captain whose tanker was shipwrecked. He thinks (believes) why his tanker was wrecked is by the mistake of on-board computer-system, not himself. He also thinks if he himself did steer the ship, like in good-old-days, his ship was never wrecked. Such his nostalgia is exploited by Zonderian Pinchernone. [Shown in episode 6] EI-08: Otemori Kin'nosuke who is a member of some local assembly and failed to acquisition the site for new Shinkansen route. Because of this failture, he became resenting the Shinkansen. His resentment is exploited by Zonderian Polonaise. [Shown in episode 7] EI-09: A tired (with his work?) office-worker who envy free-floating clouds. His envy is exploited by Zonderian Pizza. [Shown in episode 8] EI-10: Yamaha Isuzu who is a stressed-out motorcycle-riding pizza- delivery-girl. Her stress is exploited by Zonderian (maybe Primarda?). Her case is interesting since she can change between Zonder state and normal-human state freely, though that is taken place out of her own consciousness. When she's Zonder, she crash roads down for she's tired with dayly traffic-jams. And then, when she's human, she suffers more traffic-jams which she just caused! [Shown in episode 9] EI-11: A hydronaut who was not chosen to the captain of the newest submarino named Ryuuguu 9000. His frustration is exploited by Zonderian Pinchernone. [Shown in episode 10] EI-12: An excellent scientist Nozaki Tooru who planned the huge particle accelerator named Isolde. His faith in science was exploited by Pazder. [Shown in episode 11] EI-13: A young man who works at the amusement park as a part-timer. He expect an amusement park's job would be very amusing, though the fact is not so. His regret and desire to play are exploited by Zonderian Polonaise. [Shown in epidode 13] EI-14: A Quartermaster Corps GI whose name is Dave. He is selfish strategy-game mania, so-called Otaku, thinking (believing) if he is the General and the present is in war, he would make incredible military achievements. His (false) confidence is exploited by Zonderian Pizza. [Shown in episode 14] EI-15: Inubouzaki Minoru, who is an excellent computer engineer and wanted to become the Gutsy Geoid Guard's chief computer engineer when GGG was organized. But that post was taken up by Entouzi. Since then, he has a spite against Entouzi. Such his spite is exploited by Zonderian Pinchernone to attack GGG Bay Tower Kichi from cyber-space. [Shown in episode 15] EI-16: Horiguchi Gorou, who has failed to enter a college and is studying for another exam. He's in such situation for several years. (Note: It's not unusual in Japan. Generally, a Japanese college is difficult to enter and easy to graduate. Some people do spend several years for study only to enter a college. Even did so, there are rejectee who eventually despair of entering a college.) His frustration is exploited by Zonderian Polonaise. [Shown in episode 16] EI-17: A fat and huge man who distresses about his own body. His distress is exploited by Zonderian Primarda. Note that his body is slimmed down after taking JyouKai. This type of phenomenon occurs *only* to him. [Shown in episode 17] EI-18: Andou Kouichi who is an employee to the Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's general affairs department. Unlike other people, he does not have an apparent trouble. It seems that he is chosen (by Zonderian Pizza) because of Uchuu Kaihatsu Koudan's employee. [Shown in eepisode 18-19] EI-19: A Kamome Dai-Ichi Shougakkou's vice-principal who complains kids' dishonesty to the school regulations. His complaints are exploited by Zonderian Pinchernone. [Shown in episode 20] EI-20: An excellent scientist Hirata Akiko who invented an artificial gravity generator. Her eagerness for success is exploited by Zonderian Primarda and Polonaise. [Shown in episode 21] EI-21: A man who visit an air show and is excited at a bomber simulator. It seems that his excitement is exploited by Zonderian Pizza. [Shown in episode 22] EI-22: A weather-girl who is blamed because of her wrong weather forecasts. Her stress is exploited by Zonderian Pinchernone. [Shown in episode 23] EI-23: An ice-creamer who have a bad sale. His fret is exploited by Zonderian Primarda. [Shown in episode 25] EI-24: A train-station employee who is offended by unmannered passengers. His fret is exploited by Zonderian Polonaise. [Shown in episode 25] EI-25: A boy named Tooru who lost his father (a fisherman?) by an sea accident. His mother told him that father was gone to "the world between sky and sea". So he vacantly want to go that "world". His tragic wish is exploited by Zonderian Pizza and Pinchernone. Note that he returns back to human by himself. Pizza and Pinchernone say that ungrown human seems not to befit Zonder. [Shown in episode 26] EI-26: Pizza merges with the HST ("Hyper-Sonic Transporter"), making himself the EI-26. [Shown in episode 27-28] EI-27: Pinchernone merges with the Marine Self-Defense Force's frigate named Haruna, making himself the EI-27. [Shown in episode 27-28] EI-28: Polonaise merges with the Tokyo's ring-railroad named Yamanotesen and its trains, making himself the EI-28. [Shown in episode 27-28] EI-29: Primarda merges with the ring road and cars, making herself the EI-29. [Shown in episode 27-28] (not numbered): Many civilians (tourists?) who happen to be on the Great Wall of China. They are changed by the Spine Genshu to protect itself. [Shown in episode 35-36] (not numbered): A popular TV Anime Gagagatchi's director who is in pursuit of high rating. He is changed by the Arm Genshu to jam all sensors include GGG's. Zonder-Robo Design: Yamada Takahiro 11) "This is the Key to Victory!" It is normal that a preview of next episode is shown. However, GaGaGa shows more preview after a usual preview. That is a few second's preview showing a person, robot, machine, or item which will be highlighted in forthcoming episode. This short preview always has a narration, saying "Kore ga Syouri no Kagi da!" which can tanslate to English as "This is the Key to Victory!". Since purpose of such Key is often obscure, fans are happy to speculate how working the Key will be in the next. (NOTE: According to the LD #12's jacket, it seems that the official English translation is "Key _of_ Victory", not "Key _to_ Victory".) All "Key to Victory" are listed below. Note that the first episode has no previous episode thus has no "Key to Victory". 1: (N/A) 2: Drill-Arm Mode 3: Dividing Driver 4: Will Knife 5: A.I. Box 6: Eraser Head 7: Gun Dober 8: Guy's Pendant 9: Pencil Luncher (<- erratum, exact spell is "Launcher") 10: Marine 1 11: Volfogg 12: Stealth & Drill Simultaneously Mounted Mode 13: Silver Cross 14: Gun Dober, Gun Glue 15: Entouzi Kousuke 16: Dividing Driver Transporter (= freight train) 17: Plyers 18: GGG PokeBell (PokeBell is a Japanese coined word, in English "Beeper".) 19: G Tool 20: Dimension Plyer 21: Marg Hand 22: Goldy Tank 23: Carrying Container for Mic 24: Mic Boom-Robo Mode 25: Disk P 26: Jet Wapper 27: Plyers Chokuretsu Gattai (Plyers, docking in series) 28: Disk X 29: Hyper Mode Guy 30: Dangan X 31: J-Quath 32: All 13 Mics 33: ES Missiles of J-Ark 34: Saikyou Yuusha Robo Gundan (in English, "Strongest Corps of Yuusha Robots".) 35: Furyu & Rairyu 36: Gekiryujin, Shuang Tou Long 37: Mamoru's Pendant 38: Climber 1 39: MukaMuka (in English, "be in a fume") 40: Izanagi 41: Gattling Driver 42: Choryujin 43: Genryujin, Goryujin 44: Mamoru's Parents 45: Kyoushuu Teisatsu Tei Murakumo (in English, "Murakumo, the Assault Reconnaissance Cutter") 46: Cain 47: Utsugi Mikoto 48: Amami Mamoru 49: Shishioh Guy 12) GaGaGa songs Opening theme: Yuusha-oh tanjyou! lyrics by: Yonetani Yoshitomo (Note: He is GaGaGa's director. :D) music by: Tanaka Kouhei (He also wrote all GaGaGa's music.) arranged by: Negishi Takayuki sung by: Endou Masaaki "The King of Braves is Born!". Very powerful song and changes its key 8 times in a single chorus. Once you hear, you would never forget.:-) This is the song for Guy (1st part) and Yuusha Robots (2nd part). Note that Endou Masaaki is the famous Japanese singer who has sang many Anime songs. Closing theme: Itsuka hoshi no umi de lyrics by: Maeda Kouichirou music by: Tanaka Kouhei (same person who made OP's.) arranged by: Negishi Takayuki (same person who made OP's.) sung by: Simonari Satoko "Someday, in an Ocean of Stars". It is said this song is for Mamoru. (Not clearly shown like OP.) Each song consists of two parts and only one part are aired in the show. This is usual style of a Japanese Anime. But GaGaGa has a bit tweak, changing a part to air by episodes (see below). Yuusha-oh tanjyou!: episode 1-32,49 use 1st part, 33-48 use 2nd part. Itsuka hoshi no umi de: episode 1-32 use 1st part, 33-49 use 2nd part. Also note that titles of Opening and Closing theme are corresponded to subtitles of First and Last episodes. Cool. Yume no Fune wo Oikakete lyrics by: Maeda Kouichirou music by: Tanaka Kouhei arranged by: Negishi Takayuki sung by: Endou Masaaki "Following the Ship of Hope-and-Dream". This love-song apparently is for Guy (and Mikoto). Chikyuu ha dekkai Heart lyrics by: Maeda Kouichirou music by: Tanaka Kouhei arranged by: Negishi Takayuki sung by: Simonari Satoko "Earth is the big Heart". This pop-song sings Earth as a lifeform, and has no apparent correspondence to GaGaGa. Though "seeing Earth as a lifeform" concept may represents "seeing the universe as a lifeform" concept used in later episodes. This song is used partly in the episode 24, as a BGM of a parade. Saikyou Yuusha Robo Gundan lyrics by: Yonetani Yoshitomo music by: Tanaka Kouhei arranged by: Negishi Takayuki sung by: Miyauchi Takaaki In English, "Strongest Corps of Yuusha Robots". This is the song for Hyoryu, Enryu, Furyu, Rairyu, Volfogg, and Goldy Marg. Miyauchi Takaaki is another famous singer who has sang many Japanese Anime songs. GGG March lyrics by: Yonetani Yoshitomo music by: Tanaka Kouhei arranged by: Negishi Takayuki sung by: Endou Masaaki A cheerful marching song. This is the song for Gutsy Geoid Guard. Power of Desire lyrics by: Endou Masaaki music by: Endou Masaaki & Matsumoto Otozi arranged by: Miyotsu Takeo sung by: Endou Masaaki Rock. In the show, Mic sings this song when he uses Disk P (in episode 25) and other. Utsukushiki Hikari no Tsubasa lyrics by: Yonetani Yoshitomo music by: Tanaka Kouhei arranged by: Hamaguchi Shirou sung by: Takai Osamu The Japanese title can translate in English "Noble Wings of Light". This deep song is for J-Ark, Soldato J, and maybe Arma. This song is used when J-Ark's first appearance (in episode 31) and other. Note that Takai Osamu is the opera singer (tenorist). Wow. Kaze no Naka no Hana no Youni lyrics by: Matsumiya Kyouko music by: Matsumiya Kyouko arranged by: Miyotsu Takeo sung by: Suzuki Saeko "Like a flower in the wind". This love-song has no apparent correspondence to GaGaGa, too, and sang only in the Drama CDs. But its lyrics are partly spoken in the show by Hatsuno Hana, as a book-reciting in language class at episode 35. 13) Detailed Staff Infomation 13.1) Production Staff Those who made GaGaGa are listed below. I've found some interesting GaGaGa pages but those are written in Japanese. So, for English-readers' information-gathering purpose, there are few page which is worth reading.
